After arriving at the jetty, you will be welcomed by friendly staff. Then sit back and relax and let your holidays begin. This resort offered a later boat ride at 7 pm, very useful for people driving from KL.. The rooms are rustic but very clean. Mosquitoes & sand flies are minimal, and usually i have a big issue with them.. Very friendly staff, special thanks to Nat and Sarah who made us feel very welcomed. Food was good too, perhaps could have some low salt, low fat options then it would be perfect.. Make sure you do the 15 mins trek to the other resort, because the beach there is beautiful.. Ciao

We went as a family of 2 adults + 2 young children in end Mar'19. It was surprisingly quiet during that time although it was the Malaysian school holidays which was fantastic! It was as expected per reviews I had read - 30min from jetty, serene, laid back, bring your own water bottle to refill water, no air-con, pebbly beach and good food! Do get reef shoes before you arrive - the pebbly beach is suitable for young babies/children too (with reef shoes of course :-) ) as there are practically no waves and the water is very shallow till quite some distance out. The children joined Nicki for conservation club one afternoon where they learnt sign languages for different type of fishes underwater and also were brought out to clean the beach. It was a very good experience and the kids are still talking about it after more than 1 month :-). Too bad the turtle hatchery was not yet completed when we were there. The closest we had was watching some terrapins at the back garden taken care by the staff on site which was good enough for the children. Having no air conditioning did not bother us as it was very windy during our time there, and there were practically no mosquitoes (probably due to the dry season?) - we slept pretty well. Only downsides are very low water pressure (we had warm water in the family chalet) and unfortunately no kids club. All in all, highly recommend if you are looking for somewhere quiet and laid back near JB/Singapore!

A warm welcome is always to be had at Rimba resort. Specialising in group bookings with many guests coming from Singapore for a chilled out long weekend. For us on the Schooner Dallinghoo it provides a nice sheltered anchorage, on our way North to Tioman Island. There is a good anchorage in the middle of the bay out of the swell. There is a nice little dive ship with a good tender for accessing the nearby dive sites and a very relaxing tropical bar just behind the beach to view the magnificent sunsets. The owner is a young South African which adds an essential western touch to the experience.

If you want a total shut down with great location and great people and quiet, this is the place. I stayed 6 nights and it was excellent..... 1) Clealiness = Good 2) Noise = Only sound of the waves & birds singing 3) Location = Good/Water crystal clear 4) Food = Excellent and sufficient in quantity (not an issue at all). Halal Food. 5) Drinks = Available, can drink all day & night 6) Staff = Friendly/Helpful and make all guest feel at home.
