As is my custom, I have attached my recent letter to Jason Waterlow, the Managing Director at the Inn at Little Washington, after my recent visit. For those of you reading this who think I am too picky and should lighten up on my comments, I would say that, having been in the hospitality business for ten years, I appreciated...

I waited for the initial buzz to wear off, but it didn't. This is what 5 Star looks like in the Real world. From the minute we arrived until the minute we left...EVERYTHING was perfect. Having an F&B background, I know how difficult it is to get everyone on the same sheet of music. This place is choreographed perfectly, from...

From the moment we walked until the time we left this was a awesome experience. To begin their was a member of our party that is in a wheelchair. The staff brought out a ramp to get him to the dining level. At the table we were presented with menu's that wished the person whose birthday we were celebrating a...

The afternoon tea is complimentary and ushers in the exquisite luxury of service for your stay. The chef, Patrick O'Connell is an icon among the international scene for being self-taught but a highly engage entrepreneur in making a memorable visit whilst paying exorbitantly for it. Turn-down service offers a memento (don't want to spoil it for you) and morning breakfast...

You just know it's going to be special when you pull up outside the front door. And at every turn, it absolutely is. Beautiful rooms, fabric everywhere, wallpaper, coziness. Our room was the Jacques Pepin room and had a fireplace, heavy draperies and a little balcony. Homemade treats and drinks were waiting in the room when we checked in. Beautifully...

We went to celebrate my birthday that ended in a zero. The inn made it special. Every course was so good. The chef makes the food look and taste so good. We have been here before, and look forward to our next dining experience at the inn. I just wish it were not so far from home.

My husband and I had the pleasure of staying at the Inn for one evening and we both wished it could have been one week. From the moment you arrive, you know that you are entering a magical place. Our suite was lovely and so comfortable. Enjoying afternoon tea was the perfect way to wind down from our car ride....

We arrived with friends for an overnight visit that included a much anticipated dinner. From the moment we arrived and we're greeted at check in with a special cocktail we knew we were in for a treat. Our rooms were visually delightful. Overlooked a courtyard with a koi pond and a fire pit. Charming Dinner was one wonderful course after...

My husband and I dined and stayed overnight at the Inn on 12/30/2016. I could go on and on about how wonderful our dinner was -- food was amazing, service was incredible (thanks Jimmy!). Our room was lovely and well-appointed however we did have an issue which may seem minor, but when you pay $900 a night for a room...

Dear Dara L, Thank you for taking the time to review your stay with us at The Inn at Little Washington and sharing how the "food was amazing, service was incredible". We will pass on your kind words also to Jimmy. However we are deeply embarrassed that there was failure by our turn-down service to preform their duties to the...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Nestled in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains in the small town of Washington, Virginia, The Inn at Little Washington is the only Double Forbes Five Star, Double AAA Five Diamond property in the Washington metro area. The Inn's eighteen bedrooms and suites are sumptuous hideaways created by Joyce Evans, a London stage and set designer, for whom The Inn has become a life's work. Many of the furnishings were purchased in England, numbered and shipped to Virginia to be assembled on site like a giant jigsaw puzzle. The Inn offers a range of accommodations from well-appointed rooms to luxurious, two story suites many with balconies and garden views. The Inn's dining rooms are pure fantasy - a wondrous cocoon of luxury. Rose-colored, silk lampshades float above each table creating a private, romantic world below. Chef/Proprietor Patrick O'Connell's creations arrive as if served by invisible hands, course after course more dazzling than the last. From the award-winning 14,000 bottle wine cellar, which includes the finest offerings from Bordeaux, Burgundy, California and Virginia, the Sommelier plays matchmaker between you, your dinner and the wine. ... more   less
