The Inn at Afton sounds nice; don't be fooled by its name. Rude staff, pet hair in the bed unable to get clean sheet because the front desk doesn’t do housekeeping, ripped carpet, mold in the bathroom, tub doesn't drain, lights don't work, broken handle on the toilet, coffee pot looked like it had last months coffee in it, no...

Our ride on the Skline Drive was incredible....the views breath taking.....it would all end soon when we arrived at the most deplorable hotel I have ever stayed at......the front desk people were extremely rude, the facility in deplorable shape, not only dirty, but beds that were not made with fresh linens, but instead remade with animal hair all over them,...

I have been staying here off and on for ten years. Clear back to when it was a Holiday Inn. The restaurant is still a great value. Most of the rooms have seen there better days due to storm damage and incompetent roof maintenace. A beautiful view and an interesting location. If you are hiking the Appalchian Trail/ Skyline Parkway...

From their web site this looks like a really nice resort hotel on top of Afton Mountain right off the Blue Ridge Parkway. I was puzzled, though, that the web site has no photos of the insides of the rooms. When we got there the first thing we noticed was the hotel's big water tank on the mountain behind the...

If you're only staying for 1-2 nights, it's not a bad place. The sheets were clean, but the beds were warped. The bathroom was okay, but you definitely needed to wear shower shoes. It was difficult to get the water temperture to your liking. The furniture was old and there's no refrigerator or microwave. You have to bring your own...

Perfectly hideous. The lobby reeked of cigarette smoke. Our room had not been vaccumed (i.e., dead bugs and paint chips from the peeling ceiling and walls on the carpet, and the carpet was stained with something red), there was mold growing in the bathroom and in the "artwork", there were dead bugs in the heating element and dead bugs (moths,...

"This ain't no slackhouse" was the cook's response to my husband when he asked how the tuna was. We arrived on Saturday evening to spend the night after a day of wine tasting and hiking. When we checked we were greeted with a friendly girl working the desk. The check-in was easy but we were a little disappointed when we...

We turned up on spec at dusk in the pouring rain and if not tired and hungry we would have motored on. And talking of tired that well describes this place. It needs a new owner who cares

I'm going to get right to the point: - garbage bags in stairwell - room smelled moldy - carpet looked un vaccuumed and had many stains - bloody fingerprints on wall - gross tub - gross mattress (no cover, just sheets) - overall unkept appearence - other room which was rented out to my friend had a broken bed and...

This has to be one ot the worst kept hotels in an otherwise beautiful area. We arrived to the smoke alarms blaring and blazing was told "that steam from a shower" had set them off. This went on for awhile... My guess is the poor installation of the current system, which didn't seem to fit over the previous connection boxes,...
