The room was pretty nice but some of the decor, including lamps and lighting was outdated. My mattress was so sunken in on one side that no one could have slept there. If I had been with another person, I would have asked for another room. It was the worst mattress I have ever seen at a hotel.
My husband and I stayed here for our anniversary. The check in was easy; I wish I had gotten the name of the young lady that checked us in as she was so nice and made recommendations for dinner for our anniversary. We stayed in a King bed, one room villa. The room was a nice size, the kitchen was clean and fully stocked with everything you would have in your kitchen at home, along with a full dining room table with 6 chairs and a nice living room. The bedroom had a jacuzzi tub in it and the bathroom a shower. My favorite place was the screened porch that you could enter either from the bedroom or living room, so peaceful that I was able to sit out comfortably and read. Due to covid, I cleaned all the high touch areas myself, although the hotel's "next level of cleaning" states that they pay attention to frequently touch areas...all of our light switches were dirty and had visible stains on them. The resort is beautiful and all the staff we encountered were very friendly. I like the security of the building, always need your keycard to enter the building, no matter the hour. Eating establishments are not close by but its not a far ride. Colonial Williamsburg is also a short car ride away along with the outlets. Check out was easy, leave the keycard in the room and call the leave a message and leave. This was not our first time staying, last time we were able to partake in all the extra amenities, but we will be back soon and hopefully covid will be gone.…
Having read so may questionable reviews over the last few months, I felt a need to share my experience. My wife and I stayed at the resort for 6 nights. Everything was perfect. We stayed in a one bedroom villa. Unit was very clean and comfortable. Lots of notices with regard to Covid 19 prevention. Employees were very friendly and were always practising hand cleaning and social distancing. We did have a problem with Hot water. Once the front desk was made aware of the issue they immediately corrected the problem and followed up with a call. What more can you ask for!!!
Stayed in a villa for a week and despite visiting Williamsburg many times and walking the streets, we always go back for more. This visit we included the Ghost Walk that we both enjoyed. We also drove out to Norfolk and did a boat tour of the Naval Yard - so worth the drive. We prefer to eat many of our meals in so the kitchen was great. Bed was the best of our 8000 mile drive across America. Football is important and husband was able to watch his favorite team play. However, we did have difficulty with phone reception all week - none the rest of our trip. We loved this resort even with the COVID restrictions
This was my second visit to this resort during the Covid19. It was truly a special experience- their product and services are top notch. The safety precautions that was arranged by the hotel made me very comfortable. Wonderful view and ambience. The best hotel to stay in Williamsburg.
