We stayed in the Criswell Bucktrout House. It was a great experience. I found myself just sitting there thinking about how far we have come since the building was built. I really felt that I was experiencing Colonial Williamsburg in a way I have never felt on any of our other times there. It was really cool. You are just...

We visit Colonial Williamsburg often and enjoy it tremendously. Tried out a "tavern room" this time. It's wonderful to have a window overlooking a main street in the historical village. Very private and quiet. True to its description, the furnishings and decoration are influenced by what would have been around at the time and upon walking into the room, we...

Williamsburg Inn closed for renovations; check-in at a small house. Staff very good: warm, engaging, most helpful. Accomodations mostly period accurate, with exceptions of modern conveniences (colonial Keurig?). Baths look as if from the 70's (the 1970's) but adequate. Bed very comfortable; room quiet. Great getaway; so close to Colonial Wiiliamsburg (Duke of Gloucester Street).

We recently went to Colonial Williamsburg for a mid-winter break and were rather distressed by what we experienced. First, the Williamsburg Inn,a truly first-class property, was closed for renovations. So we decided to stay in one of the Colonial houses--a bedroom and separate sitting room in a reconstructed cottage. It was charming, if somewhat down-at-the-heel considering the price. Unfortunately, the...

We have stayed in the Colonial Houses several times (in different rooms in a few different inns/houses on Duke of Gloucester) and they have always been great. Our most recent stay was in the Market Street Tavern. Our room was very nice, with plenty of space for both of us. Although definitely having a period feel, of course, it also...

If you have the cash, at least once in your life you should stay in one of CW's colonial houses instead of a regular hotel (although we've had great experiences in all of CW's hotels). This option gives you the opportunity to stay in a real 18th century house, full of repro furniture, right in the historic area. Rates during...

First, the rooms are small, isolated, and do not include all conveniences of modern hotels (card scans, etc.), so if you want that don't stay here. But for a historic experience with modern necessities (i.e. electricity, running water) this is the best way to experience Colonial Williamsburg. It's also a plus that the place is overseen by the luxurious Williamsburg...

What do expect for $325.00 per night. A uncontrollable heater with the room about 90. A multi-selection shower head with one working as a dribble of water exits. Consider a 1950's motel in rural Georgia that has not been renavated since 1965. You have good idea what this house looks like. What is it worth per night, about $65.00

Our whole stay in Colonial Williamsburg was fantastic! When we checked in, we were offered champagne or sparkling cider - to which I gladly accepted after traveling all day. :) Someone brought our luggage up to our room, which was very nice since we were up one flight of stairs and it was a narrow staircase. We stayed in the...

I've stayed in several of the Colonial Houses and they're great if you're a family who wants to stay together. One of my favorites is the Market Square Kitchen. It has a large fireplace and the staff will come over a build a fire for you. The canopied bed and handicapped accessible bathroom on the first floor are wonderful Upstairs...
