Okay: Proprietor Marilyn, the Hotel, staying in the same room as Teddy Roosevelt once did, the elk visits, the proximity to the Grove of the Patriarchs (Rainier) and the incredibly affordable price are all great... but Jed (her yellow lab) is the star of the show! We love "vintage", casual, warm, well-loved accommodations, and The Hotel Packwood, founded in 1912,... More

Honestly, when we learned the low price of a night's stay we were concerned about the accommodations, but based on the reviews we gave it a shot. We were not disappointed. We had one of the rooms with a private bath, and although it was small, it was very clean and comfortable. The first evening we observed a herd of... More

I had stayed her about 6 years ago and it's still a cute, comfortable place to stay. The room was big (had a queen & a daybed with a trundle) that fit the 4 of us perfectly. It is outdated but added to the charm of the place. The tv was really old and we never turned it on but... More

I stayed here three nights. The hotel is very clean. The hosts are pleasant and accommodating. The room was pleasant. The only downside of the hotel was noise. It seemed to me that the floors were thin. Footsteps reverberated as if they were sounding boards. I would stay here again if I could get a second floor room.

Was looking for a place to stay for the night to get some hiking in for 2 of us. Was nervous about Hotel Packwood BUT after reading the reviews here decided to give it a try. Called Marilyn and she was able to book us into a room with no problem. Price was good, bed was sleepable, bathrooms were accessible... More

During my last business trip to Seattle, I had some time to spare and decided to make a trip to visit the Mount Rainier National Park. I didn't want to make a trip from the city on a day trip and wanted to stay somewhere nearer and hopefully could give me some opportunity to capture some early morning sunrise, late... More

Unfortunately circumstances meant we had to cut our stay short but they were very understanding. The room had a private bathroom and was spotlessly clean. Bed seemed comfy enough with lots of nice warm blankets. The lady was an absolute sweetie who took the time to come out in the extreme heat and show us the room prior to booking.... More

We rented a room with a private bath. It was a cute room with a comfortable bed. Sadly, ironically, ???, shortly after we checked in, power went out throughout the entire town. The power was still out the next morning but the innkeeper did the best that she could to make everyone comfortable. I look forward to returning under better... More

After reading all the reviews on TA, we did not hesitate to book a last minute room at Hotel Packwood. All the reviews were right-on and we were not disappointed. We arrived when the power was off and Marilyn gave us an option to stay or not and that she would supply a flashlight if we decided to stay. We... More

My husband and I stayed in room 6 for two nights. The rooms are very clean and rustic. There was no bathroom in the room but two well kept shared bathrooms down the hallway. Very affordable. Marilyn the owner was very nice. We hung out in the living room and played games. Very homey and comfortable. Definitely will stay here... More
