It was a Thanksgiving get away for myself, my spouse and of course the dog. The location is fantastic and within walking distance of pubs, restaurants and local shops for clothing, books, whiskey tasting and coffee. These are spectacular lodges and are managed by a stellar host (Lisa) who goes the extra mile to see you are well cared for during your stay. We have stayed a number of times over the past few years and although the lodge is aging it is beautifully maintained and constantly updated with added amenities such as a Keurig, make-up wipes, extra blankets and plenty of dishes for kitchen use. We will be back soon!!

We had the MOST Magical wedding at this location! The intimacy of the cabins and the beautiful land on the water with the yellow kissed autumn leaves with snow dust sprinkled mountains in the background was more than a dream! Lisa and her staff had all cabins warm, clean and ready for our guests from Puerto Rico to Oklahoma and all in between, some visiting WA state for the fist time. The cabins had all we needed, tables ,chairs, linens, clubhouse, the amazing fire-pits and luscious grounds added to the success of our special day. All guests commented on the warm and comfort of our cabins and the great beds! If you are looking for an intimate location for a private affair this is your place. We had our Viking Lover's Themed Wedding so the mountains and river in the background was our very own Norway backdrop in the PNW. All of our guests commented not only on the location but the comfortable setting for our event with enough accommodations, parking, safety and walkability in the town. We bought flowers for the event on the wedding morning right up the hill from the cabins and bought last minute items at the local grocery store, both did not disappoint either! Lisa made sure a few times, if we had what we needed and was a great location host. We made sure to take care of her housekeepers too because they did a great job preparing for this full weekend event!

My husband and I made an impromptu booking to get away for our anniversary. It was a wonderful mental refresh! Good for couples.
The cabins are relaxing, comfy, well stocked. The scenery is idyllic. Check in and out are self serve. Good food, shopping and a park are within within walking distance. The bed was actually cozy! I've been to places with thin little blankets and pillows. Nope, both were fluffy. Our room #7 was spacious. It had a mini fridge, microwave, keurig coffee maker, dishes and silverware. I'd never used a record player before trying the one in our room. I am grateful that Lisa the manager was flexible about our check-out time, thanks again Lisa. Hotel rules ask you to strip the sheets yourself into a pile when you leave. That was new, but perfectly fine.
I appreciated that Wilder and Pine was upfront about the train a couple hundred feet away. This was not a deal breaker for us. The train whistle could be heard only very rarely, but it still made a fair amount of noise when going by. If the weather were cooler we might have shut the window and slept through it. If the weather is warmer or you are a light sleeper, then pack earplugs.

I am a long time vacationer in the Gorge area, always staying at Carson Hot Springs. As the Universe would have it, this last time I wanted to get a way for a couple of days, my normal haunt was totally booked up. Truth be told Carson has become a bit of a party spot for younger people. Anyway I quickly started searching for a cabin close to Carson or Stevens and came across Wilder and Pine. I scoured all the images, read the descriptions and thought "wow, could this be more perfect". The answer is no.
I had the pleasure of talking with the manager Lisa to get all of my silly questions answered and she made me feel instantly welcomed and like family. Such positivity and fun. There was one room left and I took it..
Upon arrival I was blown away, who knew this little gem was so close, and also within walking distance of anything you need in Stevens. The cabins are original all wood classic cabins with several modern features. Lisa greeted me like a family member would and made sure I had all I needed. The grounds are spectacular, and when I say spectacular, I mean it. The cabins are clustered together yet very private, there are decks and balconies for each one and shared hot tubs for every two cabins. You can step outside your cabin and walk literally less than a 100 fee and be in the water.
Every morning and afternoon there are non stop surfers and water enthusiasts coming and going as well as great people enjoying the park. Did I mention that Wilder and Pine also take dogs? Well they do and they go above and beyond for your furry friends as well.
As I spent the weekend there I thought about all the ways this awesome retreat could be used and here are a few of my thoughts. Of course talk with the owners but I can guarantee they will do their best to accommodate
1: Wedding Venues: This location would be ideal for a destination wedding with cabins to house all of your guests safely and comfortably. There is a lot of space to actually have the wedding and great locations for food. There are two breweries close by that could supply the beer.
2: Family Reunions: What a great idea, have everyone meet in one neutral location and stay on site to enjoy each other. This allows for maximum downtime and safe fun.
I can't say enough about this place, I highly recommend you check it out today and get your cabin booked..

How do I even begin to describe this oasis of tranquility?
I arrived in the evening greeted by Lisa who welcomed me like family with a wink, a smile, and a laugh I could feel in my soul. Lisa informed me I was in luck, as the Walking Man Brewery around the corner hosts live music and offers delicious food on Thursday nights.
Headed down to my cabin to unpack and found a record player with selection of records waiting for me to play as I made myself comfortable. Afterward, I headed to the brewery which did not disappoint with friendly inviting staff and a courtyard filled with ambience, music, and melophiles.
Upon return to my cabin, I took a relaxing soak in the hot tub on my private deck while enjoying the stars and listening to music before heading to bed. To my great delight, the bed was so comfortable that I awoke the next morning feeling as if I may have travelled to a higher dimension being greeted, as I was, to a truly magnificent sunrise!
Highly recommend!

If you wish to be within walking distance of restaurants, on the water, and close to the scenic Columbia River Gorge waterfall drive and Mt. Hood, then this is for you! The manager, Lisa, spoke with us on the phone and gave many helpful recommendations for nearby sites and activities. Bonus was watching windsurfers launch next door from a grassy lot! Be advised that the train tracks (vital for the area loggers) are within several hundred feet and the whistle can be heard day and night. Our room, #9, was very spacious and spotless with kitchen and AC, located on the 2nd floor. There is a television located in the first floor lounge. Suggest visiting the Columbia Gorge Museum first! Enjoy!

We just spent our ninth annual weekend at Wilder & Pine, and already can't wait for next year!
This is the perfect place for a romantic getaway with maximum rest & relaxation. We jokingly call it our "shrimp boil" weekend, because we are either in the room's jetted bubble bath, in the deck hot tub overlooking the river, or at Carson Hot Springs during our waking hours.
The cabins are rustic luxury, with unbeatable views, a well-stocked kitchenette, stylish furnishings, and the most comfortable bedding I've encountered in my many travels. A turntable and vinyl in place of a TV is a great push to unplug--it's so serene, to listen to music and watch the river and its wildlife roll by.
The town of Stevenson is wonderful, and we always try to hit El Rio, Walking Man Brewery, Big River Grill, Red Bluff, and Clark & Lewies. It always blows our minds when the warm and welcoming locals remember us from years past.
The two factors that put this property so far above the rest are the fact that it's extremely dog friendly, and the manager, Lisa, is an angel. She is so accommodating and wonderful, they're lucky to have her (and so are guests!). She has gone so far above and beyond for us, we feel like royalty.
I cannot recommend this property enough!

I had heard there were new owners and management (Lisa GM) and I wasn’t sure what to expect. After staying here a year or so ago, I loved how close it was to restaurants and downtown and of course the river view! But wow!, the new rooms have good clean accommodations and new furniture/ new carpet and I was very surprised and happy for the 3 night getaway I choose during this week! I was also most impressed with Lisa (the new manager)… who is rapidly and efficiently making the place better day by day. The customer service was excellent, the room Was very clean, and mostly I enjoyed feeling like I had the river to myself in my own cabin and the other guests were kind and considerate and we all enjoyed talking to one another! It was a great getaway and wonderful!- thank you Lisa!

What a gorgeous setting! We just happened on this cozy spot by accident on our cross country trip to the coast in Oregon, and wished we could have stayed longer. The host, Lisa, was so sweet, both when I registered, and to offer to move us to a different cabin closer to the river. She also recommended a fun restaurant where our dog was welcomed, even in the winter. Our cabin was so cute, and fully outfitted with cooking supplies, including good coffee and amenities. The bathtub was delightful, with nice big fluffy towels. The bed was wonderfully comfortable and cozy. If you travel with a dog, the cabins are perfectly located with trails right from the door, and large grassy places to play. Our dog was so happy after being in the car for so long! They aren’t kidding about the train being close, (it’s mentioned over and over on the website) and although it won’t affect my decision to return in the least, I will make sure we have ear plugs the next time. There will be a next time!

Family and I have been going here once or twice a year for over a decade. We enjoy the relaxed atmosphere and train spotting. (we grew up near active railroad tracks, so a bit of nostalgic romance for us even from modern trains, and we get used to the ‘thundering soundtrack’ after the first night though every room has earplugs available)
Lisa the Manager is a sterling person; helpful and generous. She adds life to our visits, and often offers fresh-baked treats in the afternoon. We love the hot water soaking tubs on the porches facing the river, (no jets to make noise, just the ‘ahhhs’ of folks relaxing) and the new bicycles are a bonus. There are a couple ‘beaches’ to swim from, one near the cabins in the park where the wind surfers launch from, and a more private, small beach, tucked in the woods a five minute walk east along the river shore and right next to the train tracks, though watch out for rocks on the river bottom. I’ve run through town and we’ve hiked up the hillside to work off our family meals. The bicycles let me explore the local un-busy, back roads west of town. I’ve even played a local, level, low-key 9-hole golf course which is a short drive west, though there are other 18-hole courses a drive east or west but they are challenging because of the elevation gain.
We like to support the local bookstore and restaurants in town, a 3 minute walk from the Cabins, and sometimes ‘study’ at the Public Library. We go to the Grocery Store the first afternoon to stock up on supplies to use in the Kitchenettes. The Hardware store, Pharmacy, Smoked Salmon business, and Gas Stations have also come in handy. There is a Credit Union that has an agreement with the one I use, so one time was able to get cash from the teller for tips for the housekeeping staff. On occasion we also cross the Columbia River into Oregon and will meet family and friends for lunches out.
We’ve found our trips there to be a great value, and don’t mind the ‘rough cabin’ experience, and always feel a little sad when our visits are over. We also look forward to, and often within a month of getting home, start planning our next stay there.
