Located a half mile from downtown Winthrop Washington. Walk to town in the summer and to the cross country skiing trailhead/ice skating rink in the winter. "Clean rooms and comfortable beds at an affordable rate" -Alaska Airlines Magazine
We drove 5 hours to stay here for the balloon festival in early March, and to enjoy some fun in the snow. Unfortunately, the snow was weak this year and the loup loup ski hill was closed the weekend we were there. We paid $25 for a one-day parking pass to hike and pull-sled on the cross crountry ski trails near loup loup. I chose Mt. Gardner Inn due to the value and relatively-close proximity to downtown Winthrop. As soon as we entered the room I cringed, as there was a heavy scented smell that I was afraid was masking a more-undesirable smell. The thick shag carpet furthered my fear that we were in for a smelly weekend. But, thankfully the heavy scent lifted within 24 hours and I didn't notice any unfavorable smells during our stay. Decaf coffee pods would have been appreciated. The toilet really needs to be upgraded to an elongated one. The shower curtain smelled moldy. There were no easily-accessible power outlets for the dining room table, which I planned on making my work desk for my laptop (since there were no other options for this). I had to lift the only unlocked built-in bench for the table to get to a power outlet (which was challenging to say the least). The pull out bed on the couch was OK for kids but not adults (too uncomfortable), and in the flat position it was almost reclined. It was too inclined in the next setting up. I also didn't like the electronic/online check in process...I signed the electronic documents the morning of our arrival but then was told I had to sign in again after 3 PM for final processing so we could get our keys ready for pickup. Also, when we arrived and grabbed our keys the envelope had our last name misspelled. So, I was hoping there wasn't a similar-named party also staying there that weekend, since first names were just an initial. Lastly, at least 1 window and 1 slider door was UNLOCKED upon entry - a safety and security hazard!…

Thank you for your very thorough evaluation. This is one of our most popular units. It has a thick luxury carpet which is regularly cleaned. The dining room has a built in banquette and is not designed to be a work space but a lovely eating area. We change our shower curtains once a week. The window cleaner came the day this guest checked in and must have left a window and slider unlocked. Our online check in system is the industry standard. We always appreciate feedback.

Nice location, great access to the mountains, comfortable room and close to food and brewery. Cute town with lots to offer. The Inn's lobby area was welcoming with nice extra touches including coffee, teas and books.

Clean, lovely rooms conveniently located by trails and walking distance to shops and restaurants. Ptarmigan room set up made it perfect for snacks and games in the evenings. We can’t wait to go back next year. Fingers crossed for lots of snow next year. Thanks so very much for the hospitality!!!

We had a wonderful three night stay in Ravensridge B as a family with our toddler son. We were really pleased on arrival at how thoughtfully appointed and amazingly clean the rooms were. The living room was very cozy with a gas fireplace and the kitchen had everything we could possibly need. It felt like a lot of care had been out in to the rooms and grounds. The bed was quite comfortable and all of us slept well during our stay. We really appreciated being close to town and tried a different restaurant each night of our stay plus the local bakery in the mornings. We drove out to Mazama for skiing and that was convenient as well. Owner Alison was extremely friendly and responsive. We would definitely return to Mt Gardner Inn!

Throughout the booking process and the changes we then had to make due to the sudden illness of another member of our party, Greg and Allison were totally on board, responding swiftly to our requests and so accommodating. In the end, it was just 2 of our original four who travelled, so we stayed in the Grouse Room which met our needs well. The beds are so comfy! Given that our stay was in January, we didn’t use the spacious balcony, but could see how pleasant it would be to step out and enjoy the pleasant overlook. We loved the extra supplies available in the lobby, with a great selection of DVDs, beverage glasses, kettle, toaster. I’m usually careful to check under the bed before leaving a place, but I missed seeing my prescription sunglasses that had somehow found their way into that dark recess! A quick message to the innkeepers was sent, with housekeeping finding them and Allison assuring they would be swiftly mailed back. Don’t hesitate to stay at this lovely small Inn, in short walking distance to the community trail, and all the delights of Winthrop.…

We enjoyed staying at Mt Gardner Inn. We stayed in economy room #2. It faces to the street, but we didn't hear any noise from the street or cars. The office has everything you need, extra coffee, silverwares, electric kettle, toaster, dvds. when I had questions, Alison replied to me right away. Our room had 2 queen beds , 3 of us stayed very comfortably. We are coming to Winthrop for every winter for cross country skiing. I am sure we will be back next year! Thank you.

We rented an apartment, and loved it. It was much bigger than I expected and we had a lovely view of the mountains and an outdoor patio. The bed was very comfortable and the place was very clean. Perfect!

We enjoyed our 2 night stay at the Gardener Inn conveniently located just outside of the main part of town. The property is so pristine even the deer hang out on the lawn and weren’t concerned about our comings and goings. Our room was very clean and spacious. The private patio seating is nice for relaxing after a day of hiking adventures. Communication is excellent, although we were a bit confused by the checkin email we received earlier in the day, which turned out not usable unless it was after 3:00. Not a problem, we just checked in at the office when we arrived. Would definitely stay here again.

My. Gardner Inn is a magical place. The surrounding is so peaceful and seeing deer right outside your window just hanging around, how special is that!. The amenities of the property is top notch as well. Wish we could have stayed longer.
