Located a half mile from downtown Winthrop Washington. Walk to town in the summer and to the cross country skiing trailhead/ice skating rink in the winter. "Clean rooms and comfortable beds at an affordable rate" -Alaska Airlines Magazine
Our third time in Winthrop and the third time at the MT. Gardener Inn...that should be sign. Check-in is totally contactless, with the keys at the front desk in the lobby. We even had a personal note from Allison, the owner on our envelope (the owners live on premises). This was the second time in the Pheasant room and we love it! Two queen size beds that are very comfortable, a fridge w/ freezer (!), coffeemaker, coffee, real coffee creamer, lots of outlets, shampoo, body wash and conditioner in dispensers and hand soap in dispenser; the one and only thing missing would be a dispenser with lotion. The lobby is stocked with bags of ice, real glasses of all shapes, wine and bottle openers, real flatware, napkins, coffee, tea and creamer as well as DVDs. Our patio, looking into…

Exceptional service started when I had to call directly to book a room due to spotty cell service on the road. Alison answered personally. She was such a delight! Easiest check-in ever. We checked into a beautiful room, great deck, comfortable bed, fluffy pillows and a serenade by the local birds. We will definitely be back!!

Super clean. So much thought put into the interior for hanging clothes, etc. Fridge was bigger than normal motel fridge. Quiet. Nice yard for pups. Love the table and chairs with umbrellas outside. Nice getaway. Owner was very nice! No complaints!!

Everything about Mt. Gardner Inn fits me to a "T". It's well located - within easy walking distance of "downtown" Winthrop, the market, the river and restaurants without being cramped with people and traffic. The rooms are are lovely and quiet for the most part, and very nicely decorated. The beds are VERY comfortable, amenities reliable, and the hosts even provide access to real cutlery and glassware if you need it. The hosts have always been so kind and helpful, too. I LOVE that I can bring my (very well-behaved) dog with me (the inn even provides convenient waste disposal bags and bins for your furry friend). And...it's still reasonably priced. It's wonderful.

We couldn’t have been happier with our recent stay here. The room was so clean! It had all the comforts of home. Loved that we had our own outdoor seating area and parking space. We had two dogs with us so we stayed in a pet friendly “economy room” that was so beautiful and far exceeded our expectations. The lobby was absolutely amazing and had anything you could possibly need available for you to use. Alison was so friendly and accommodating that we’ll definitely stay here again. Highly recommend The Mt Gardner Inn!

This is one of the best hotels I’ve ever stayed in! I was immensely impressed with how clean the entire unit was. It was as if I had cleaned the place myself. No dust. Clean carpets and tile. No rings in the tub or toilet. Fresh linens. All the lightbulbs worked. In addition, the unit was devoid of any harsh chemical or cleaner smells which is a must for me. Super happy with the cleanliness! This was also one of the most peaceful retreats I’ve had the opportunity to enjoy. I stayed in the Raven Ridge B suite and was surprised with not one but three sliding glass doors (bedroom, dining, and living room areas) that all opened out into beautifully landscaped lawns and gardens. Each day I saw mule deer at least 2-3 times throughout the morning and afternoon. Butterflies…

I stayed here on my way across Hwy 20 last week. While I booked Room 1 (facing the road), Alison offered me Room 4 (in the rear of the bldg) seeing I was only one person and had booked a room w two queen beds. The room was spacious and the bed was quite comfortable. All the lights and AC worked. There was a small fridge which I used for my water bottle. The water was hot and towels were not threadbare. Each unit has its own parking space which is so much better than jostling with other visitors for a spot near your room. Alison provided a map of the walking trail into town which was a pleasant 10-minute walk. As always, walk facing traffic as there are tandem dump trucks, RVs that come close. Since this was a solo (sort of scouting) visit, I will bring the other half in the…

Wonderful place! Exceptionally clean. Very quick responses to any requests. Very friendly. Close to many things to do. Fun restaurants nearby. It was also a very quiet place to stay. Nice little patio area where we even watched a couple mule deer close to us.

This is the best hotel in the Methow Valley. The rooms are super clean, the beds are very comfortable, and you are close to everything. Allison and Greg are very helpful, communication was great, and the check-in process is a breeze. Highly recommend these folks to anyone staying in the area.
