One of the most disappointed places I have staid. Nice and quite area in the middle of nowhere, which can be ok, but if you have a decent place to stay. This hotel should have been renovated 20 years ago, it smells old, looks old is simply far too old (horrible creaking beds). And then there is the service.... Waiting at reception this woman finally came, clearly not having a good day, no hello but more what do you want. We tried to make conversation but she complained being the only one there and that she did not understand how our room was charged, if at all, so we had to talk to somebody else in the morning. No explanation where our room was or anything else, again it was clear we were a nuisance. That she not had a good day was clear when we were in the room and opened the door to the patio (we were ground floor) as we heard her swearing with quite some F words having a go and somebody in her mind for using the cigarette bit as a normal bin.She should not be in this business that became clear. Not being impressed at all we certainly were not having breakfast or dinner here so escaped for some food in Davis. In the morning we left too early for anybody to arrive, we did not feel like a sleep in on these beds. One positive note although all looked old and therefore not very hygienic, the room was clean (with the exception if the horrible carpets). And no wifi in case you really need this...…
Windwood did great by us Presidents day weekend 2019. The Buffet breakfast and dinner for 21 of us was perfect. Plenty of food and accompdated a special request without issue. We will definitly be back next year.
Not exactly what we expected when hearing "resort." The motel is outdated and the amenities listed weren't all available in our room. The front desk people were very friendly, but the room had a musty smell. The beds were very firm and also smelled musty. There's a small TV with a few channels. The bathroom was very basic and did not provide conditioner. If you need an iron or hair dryer you'll have to go to the front desk. And if you need ice, also atthe front desk... But only from 730am to 9pm. The first night the wifi was unavailable. We appreciate them having availability, but we won't return until some updates are done.
You'll find everything you need after a long day of hiking in the mountains: hot shower, bed and food. Unless you're there Mon-Wed, and the restaurant is closed. I didn't like that they told me about it after I already booked. Also, the reception closes very early. Don't bother calling or stopping by after 2pm, nobody is there to help you. Other than that, I liked the place. Affordable and very peaceful.
A very nice place to stay. Good price, friendly staff (only one; checks you in and is the waitress for the whole restaurant!. Comfortable, well-appointed room. Only problem is that the internet is very spotty and the TV only gets five channels, all of them basic cable. Guess that's the price you pay for being in the mountains.
