Like ALL the WV state park lodges, it's spotless, has a great staff, convenient to town, and a wonderful state park to explore. We have returned here many times over the years because they take of you. The park offers excellent trails, a waterfall, and lots of activities.

I stayed at the lodge for one week for a conference. This place is ridiculously outdated. There is no thermostat. The AC is a wall unit from the 1980's. It smells old and musty. The bathroom, beds, and decor are from the early 1980's. The wifi was so slow, I couldn't stream any video from any site (Netflix, Amazon, Youtube,...

We rented a cabin for two nights during the week of our vacation. It was cozy. We had a fireplace that we used since it was a little rainy and chilly and we roasted some marshmallows. We also had a grill and frequent visits from deer in the area looking for food (which was kinda neat and my daughter loved...

80's hotel with no updates, but actually that is part of the charm. We arrived last minute and they were able to put us up without the mandatory 2 nite minimum. The staff was extremely nice, and professional. The pool was clean and my 9 year old twins loved it. The spa is under repair but that's ok! The game...

It is a nice hotel with good rooms, good views and a good pool. Nothing is really out of the ordinary. It literally s right in the middle of the state park. It is a good weekend vacation destination. I enjoyed my time in the lodge.

We were looking for a quiet, pretty place to stay over the Christmas holidays and found wonderful cabins here. We had a two-bedroom cabin, with an open kitchen, dining room and living room area. There was a fireplace, with lots of firewood supplied. The kitchen was adequately furnished, but no extras! We stayed in an older cabin, but there are...

If you are looking for a very quite laid back weekend with your significant other or a place to bond with your family then this is your place. Blackwater Falls state park gas the longest sledding run and conveyer belt pull back in WV, it takes 8 minutes to ride the belt back to the top of the hill. The...

I recently stayed at the lodge for the first time in several years and nothing has changed. The rooms have been kept up, but not really updated, and are clean and comfortable. The radiator heat is not regulated in the room but there is an AC unit that can be turned on to compensate when it gets too hot. The...

First off, you are not going to find luxury accommodations anywhere in Davis-Canaan Valley, WV. So I am going to rate this against what you find in the area, which is pretty basic. If you are expecting luxury, this part of WV is not the place to go. This hotel has nice amenities for families. I will talk about the...

Visiting home for the first time in years, my husband and I wanted to take my parents on a mini-break into the mountains. We were planning on staying two nights at the Blackwater Falls Lodge, but we changed our minds after a night there. We got rooms with a canyon view, which was lovely. However, they were positioned right over...
