My husband and I have stayed at Graceland numerous times. Most often it's an occasion, Anniversary, Valentines day. We have stayed in three of the rooms on the second floor. We love the history which surrounds this elegant summer home of bygone years. I love reading in the second floor sitting area with it's period couches in front of the...

Although the mansion is beautiful and the staff extremely nice, I had a room with just a single bed. That part I was ok with as I'm spending the night alone. However, there is a nasty and mysterious stain on the fairly thin cheap comforter, cheap sheets that scratch and loud when you move, no mattress protector which is gross...

When we stayed at the inn, our room was in the conference center. It is very, very simple and plain in appearance. However, the beds were comfortable and it was extremely quiet. If you are looking for a place to "rest your head," this is a very good place to stay. The actual Inn (historic mansion) has much more luxurious...

Earlier this year we had attended a themed dinner at Graceland with the theme being "Dining by Rail" with the meal courses coming from different railroad menus. Door prizes were given out with the lucky recipients finding a sticky stating their prize under their chair. We lucked out and found that we had received a night's stay at Graceland. Given...

Graceland is such a stunning work of architecture. The place oozes old money. Go even if you are not staying or dining. The employees have a ton of stories on the history of the place ~ take advantage of their knowledge. And ask about the brass andiron in the main hall. Interesting story there. The restaurant was closed when we...

We did not stay here, but went on a local's recommendation just to see the architecture and view of the city. After expressing an interest in the history of the Inn we were given the keys to two of the suites and took a self-guided tour of the premises. Impressive woodwork and very good view of the city, would certainly...

We had our dinner there on September 19, 2013. This was part of the American Mountain Theater package. It is a lovely older building with a lot of history. You can dress casual and enjoy a very good choice of meals. The staff was very friendly and helpful and made you feel right at home. If you are in Elkins...

We needed a room and everyone was booked. These are remodeled dorm rooms from the looks of it. Not real nice, the parking lot was in the back, lots of steps to climb with luggage. Humble breakfast. WIll not stay here again.

In Elkins for the train excursion and stopped at Graceland to eat this past week We didn't stay at the Inn. The structure itself, gorgeous. At first we thought we were underdressed, but found out it is a Come as You are without diminishing the atmosphere of the establishment. This does make sense being on a college campus. We chose...

This was a mother/daughter trip and a package deal with Tygart flyer/AMT, etc. We had dinner here the second night and it was WONDERFUL! Everything we had done was very small town basic. This was such a surprise! The Inn was beautiful and we chose to eat on the patio overlooking the town- what a view. The package deal let...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The new management of Graceland invites you to come and see how we've changed, and want you to know that we look forward to accommodating all of our guests and their unique lodging and dining needs. Graceland Inn, the former summer residence of West Virginia's first Democratic US Senator, Henry Gassaway Davis, is on the National Historic Landmarks Register. In 1996 the restoration of Graceland Inn was complete and opened to the public as an Historic Country Inn with a full-service restaurant. The main purpose for restoring the mansion and developing an Inn, Restaurant, and Conference Center was to create a dynamic learning lab for Davis & Elkins Hospitality and Tourism students. All rooms in Graceland Inn are furnished with antiques or Victorian reproductions. Each room has a private bath, individual climate controls, a television, and complimentary wireless internet access. Large rooms have marble lined bathrooms, and one room is equipped for handicap access. An elevator is available. The facility is completely smoke free. We also offer complimentary continental breakfast for all guests. Graceland also features a Conference Center with more traditional style hotel rooms with modern amenities and conferencing facilities. We also offer meeting and banquet space at our sister mansion, Halliehurst. The restaurant is located on the first floor of Graceland. We have four elegant dining areas, and each room's decor has its own character. In the summer months you can dine on our Veranda that overlooks the beautiful town of Elkins. The Graceland Restaurant is open to the public for lunch Wednesday-Friday from 11:00am to 2:00pm (Tuesday lunches in the summer), dinner Tuesday-Saturday from 5:30pm to 9:00pm and for Sunday Brunch 11:00am to 2:00pm. We look forward to serving you. ... more   less
