This new 69 room property is located minutes off of Rt. 33/250, near the heart of historic downtown Elkins, home of Davis and Elkins College, The American Mountain Theater, and The Durbin and Greenbrier Scenic Railroad. Visiting a customer or other local business? Our hotel offers all the services a business traveler needs for a productive visit including free high speed internet! Visiting for leisure? Nestled in the western foothills of the Allegheny Mountains, Elkins is surrounded by the natural beauty of the Appalachian Plateau. The abundance of mountains, forested terrain, and cold-water streams make fishing and hunting in this area a rewarding experience. Streams and rivers are stocked with both golden and brown trout which are actually hatched at the Bowden Fish Hatchery located 10 miles east of Elkins on US. Route 33. Randolph County - the hub of the mid-Atlantic ski region is just a short drive from any of the area's three major ski resorts. Canaan Valley, Timberline and Snowshoe Mountain Resort offer excellent downhill skiing opportunities. The region also offers an abundance of ungroomed cross-country trails on forest roads, mountain sides and ridges.

Nothing major to write about the hotel stay. Room was great, bed comfortable, no issues at all. It is conveniently located to 'downtown' area of Elkins, just a block away. My only issue with the stay was the amount of guests walking around, or checking in, without masks. I know its a difficult situation for business owners since there are so many 'entitled' people out there, but saying anything to the non-maskers would be appreciated.

Wife and I stayed here overnight in one of the King suites. Nice room, clean, but we were on the first floor and heard every creak and step made on the floor above us. It was not a good night’s sleep.

Although the Covet 19 epidemic was in progress, our stay was pleasant, The Hotel staff was limited in numbers and as to what they could do, all joined in to make our stay comferatble. This epidemic might interfere with some amenities, it should not prevent any one from a little travel.

We were in Elkins for three nights and chose the HIX because the hotel we likely would have chosen was sold out. It was a good stay. The property is pretty basic, a hotel surrounded by asphalt with no landscaping. The rooms are standard, but recently renovated and well maintained. Pluses — you are near downtown and the train station is across the street. Sit down for this one — guest laundry is complimentary! During the pandemic, they got breakfast right. The pool was closed, but there is a cabana and several nearby tables outside perfect for eating outside with lingering conversation. We took great advantage of these. Overall, they did well. And, there was a great emphasis on health and cleanliness.

We visited this hotel to spend the night before continuing our travel to Snowshoe and it was amazing. The hotel is new, clean, comfortable, with indoor pool and an incredible breakfast included. Elkins is a little and cute town that you may visit. This hotel is a good place to make a relaxed stop.
