What a great visit, we are very impressed. It started with a very late arrival and the B & B was closed. We looked around town and found other accommodations that we found lacking. As we were looking some of the other guests came back to the B & B and showed us how to contact someone. As it turned...

Excellent stay in the small town of Matewan. Our host Sharon was very nice and took care of all of are needs. The house is old but well taken care of and the breakfast was very good as well. This is a B&B that has a lot of ATV riders so their will be some noise and also their is...

Me and my wife traveled to Matewan this weekend and stayed here. I have to say it was the greatest!!! Violet was are blessing she took the best of care to us and acknowledged our Anniversary to the fullest . This was our first time at a B&B and I would recommend everyone going to this area stay with them....

This B&B is charming, quaint, homey, and very, very welcoming. The rooms are clean. We had the Mountain Room. Our only complaint is that the bathroom was open, with just a partition between the bed and the toilet. The frequent trains throughout night were annoying. The trains are directly behind the building, and are so loud, it sounds as if...

For a trip offthe beaten path, we decided to stay at Matewan, WV and, having no hotels of report, we decided on the Matewan B&B. Sharon was super nice and most accomodating. Old home, converted to a B&B has all the trapping of your home and more. Only negative (and a very small one) was an occasional train but that...

This was our second trip to Matewan and to the Matewan B&B. Sharon and Pat Garland made us feel so welcome on our first visit that we had to make another trip there while in West Virginia. We were saddened at the news that Pat had passed away and Sharon is running the inn on her own. She hasn't missed...

I cannot say enough about Sharon the hostess!! Soooo nice and takes great care of you. The b&b is large, roomy and quote comfortable. The atmosphere is just incredibly comfortable and stimulates conversation with everyone that comes through and everyone in town wants to eat breakfast and Sharon feeds them! If you love atv trails come stay here. And don't...

Being from a family of coal miners on both my Mother and Father's side of the along with watching the John Sayles 1987 movie "Matewan" I decided this year to make it one of my destinations on my annual fall motorcycle ride to Appalachian mountains. I could not have picked a better place to stay and Sharon made me feel...

We happended to be at the Matewan House on Thanksgiving Day and Sharon and her family treated the 7 of us ATV riding travelers like their own family and served up an amazing Thanksgiving dinner. Homemade bread and about 10 other scrumptuous southern style dishes to choose from. Of course we tried them all! The Matewan House is a must...

We stayed 3 nights in the Bunkhouse and what a great decision. Sharon is absolutely the best host. The rooms were clean and cleaned daily. The breakfast was set for a king. Sharon went above and beyond to make sure that every guest was comfortable and had everything that they needed. I forgot my grill so Sharon provided a grill...
