We arranged for a late checkin last Thursday. We were warmly greeted by Jessie, efficiently checked in, and offered a snack or ice cream. Our room was clean, & everything worked. Bed was very comfortable. Off the highway so not as noisy. Definitely will try to stay here again.
We travel to Morgantown frequently to visit our WVU student. This was our first stay at this hotel. Upon arrival, front desk staff were super friendly. Breakfast staff also went out of their way to help, asking if we needed anything, etc. Breakfast array was surprisingly better than expected, though some items were not consistently available. Gym is very small: Two treadmills, two ellipticals, some free weights. Our room was clean. The mattress was on its last year of life; higher on the sides, lower in the middle. Unfortunately, the hotel seems a little run-down. Dated, cramped bathrooms with warped wallpaper, worn/discolored tubs, stained hallway carpet. There were signs posted in the room declaring covid precautions that stated sanitizing wipes would be placed in every room (nope), and that housekeeping would only service rooms every third day to minimize exposure. If hotel staff and guests were masked, this might be believable, but I think it's just a convenient excuse to lower service standards. We requested clean towels and that our single, very full trash be emptied on day two, but said that we would make our own bed. The front desk clerk gave us a stack of clean towels and two trash bags, instructing us to leave our full trash bag in the hall for housekeeping to pick up. So we made a pile of wet towels in the corner of the bathroom and changed our own trash bags. We have stayed in hotels four times since the pandemic began, and this was the only time we did not receive housekeeping service. My guess is that this hotel is struggling to find staff like so many other service businesses. Don't know what the solution is, but potential guests ought to know what they're in for. Location is right off interstate and close to downtown, in a run-down business district. There is no way around potholes in Morgantown, so that is the great equalizer. No matter where you stay or where you go, you will encounter numerous, massive potholes.…
My family and I stayed here for our daughters WVU visit. Room was fairly clean and smelled good. There were what appeared to be mold spots on the bathroom ceiling and wall. Reason for the 3 star rating was the bed. Very uncomfortable and somewhat "lumpy". Some TLC and we would consider staying here again. Otherwise next time we would probably choose somewhere else to stay. The breakfast was tasty and the desk staff was friendly.
Look - this place is not fancy. But if you're looking for a reliable, comfortable, safe and friendly place off the interstate then this is the place. This is a halfway place for us in our travels and we are never disappointed. It's clean, affordable and easy. We look forward to staying here.
Let me start of by saying I have started at this hotel multiple times over the years visiting family and I have never had a bad experience. The staff is amazing the rooms are immaculate the food is wonderful they really pay attention to detail they really made me feel like I was a person and not just someone paying to stay in a room. I really really highly recommend this place it is amazing. Just love everyone there they are always so helpful and kind. ❤️❤️❤️❤️
My family of 5 has to stay in suite style hotels any time we travel. Springhill suites used to be my go-to. We've stayed at this particular location a couple of times before. Over the course of the last several years, this hotel has become increasingly dirty and dilapidated. My initial interaction with the front desk was great, but after that there was never anyone at the desk. The breakfast was minimal, and not what I would expect from a Springhill. The beds are small and hard. The sofa was dirty. The bathtub had worn paint, wouldn't drain. There was mold above the shower in the bathroom. It was just not a good experience. If you're looking for a place in Morgantown, look somewhere else.
We stayed at a Residence Inn in Florida and the AC stopped working. On the way home to Canada we stayed in a Sleep Inn in Georgia that was cramped and had a really hard beds. The cheapest and best hotel was this Spring Hills Suite that we stopped in on December 30th. We had three in our party and it was a large room with two double beds and a large living room area with a desk and a large pullout sofa. The beds were extremely comfortable, which finally made for a good night's sleep, after two nights of terrible sleep. The front desk person was friendly and welcoming. Great value!
Just stayed here for Family Weekend at WVU. First room we were put in had stained carpeting and the bathroom shower was not clean - hair on the tile was visible, as well as shampoo/soap on tile. The box spring in bed was visibly tattered and worn. The tub also had yellow stains from wear. We were moved to a second room where the tub was black and worn - it wasn’t dirt, just old and stained. When I sent a note to the desk, they said they were behind in their renovations but it was clean. They offered to comp us Marriott points, but when I mentioned upon check out, they responded sorry but you should have asked for another room again. I shared the picture of the tub and the front desk clerk just shrugged. Will never go back here - far nicer properties to choose from. Very disappointed for a Marriott property.…
The SpringHill Suites used to be our ‘Go Too’ hotel in Morgantown. I’m a realist and understand that employee’s in the Food and Hospitality industry are sparse these days. However, ripped up and badly stained carpets, torn furniture, sickly bathrooms and roaches will quickly chase you from your room. It’s time to tear down and rebuild. Certainly not even close to a Marriott brand property. The lone bright spot was the friendly and welcoming front desk employee, Gavin.
If you're in Morgantown for a WVU football game, graduation, fall activities or just passing through, this hotel has it all at a great price! The location is only 5 highway minutes from Puskar field and the coliseum. It's right behind a Sheetz, Arbys, Dunkin, Burger King and KFC. It's a stones throw to a huge shopping area including Walmart, Sam's Club and a Giant Eagle. There's plenty of free parking and an awesome pool! The rooms are all suites with a sink, baby fridge, work area, huge bathroom, separate sink area and we had a huge bed for the grandkids to jump on. To come down the elevator and smell bacon cooking from their complimentary breakfast was heaven! Give them a try and you won't be disappointed.
