This place was likely awesome back in the day. Since Shirley Yokum has been moved to a home, it's descended into a dump. Everything including the restaurant building is falling down. There is no maintenance. Whoever is running the place is letting it go. I camped there very recently. The grass hadn't been mowed yet, the campground bathrooms were gross...

We stayed at Yocum's Vacationland renting one of the tee pee's in the end of March. Upon arrival at the campground we found someone else in our reserved tee pee and we had to spend the night in our car. The kind ladies running the restaurant gave us a bunk house for the next night free of charge. Unfortunately, there...

They just don't care. The children apparently are in charge after the parents are gone and in nursing homes. Maybe the man driving around on his 4 wheeler with the dog in the front should switch the dog out for a tool box and do some maintenance. The linens smell moldy as if they were stored in a moldy room...

While we were there we had a very good time ,we spent several hours with Mrs. Yokum and learned alot about the area and surrounding area. We stayed at the motel. Yes it was a little dusty and very quaint but homey loved the view of the grounds and surrounding area . Even help her pick some of her fresh...

We have stayed at Yokum's Vacationland at least once per year for the last decade and a half. Initially we stayed in the older motel (they have two) which offers just the room without the kitchenette. Those were warm in the winter time, but -- since they're closed now -- I won't say anything further. We have never stayed at...

We stayed in cabin 20, which is one of the older ones. Pros: Porch around back, fire circle, fireplace, nestled in a mostly wooded area and backs up to the river. Sleeps 6 if you don't count the couch. Spacious, clean fridge, toaster, can opener, gas heater. Linens on downstairs beds seemed alright. Cons: Older furniture and decor (kind of...

We stayed in cabin N3. It was a last minute trip and we didn't really know the area so this is what was left. Well.... Now we know why. It was 200$ a night in a part of the state that isn't exactly wealthy so I was expecting good things. Well I was wrong. We checked in and found out...

Arrived on July 3, 2015 stayed until July 5 2015. Don't be fooled by the nice pictures. We rented cabin 23# Which is a Honeymoon cabin. The first impression. When we checked in the Resteraunt had a couple of tables piled with dirty dishes. Got checked in. There was a bag of garbage sitting out side of the cabin. The...

I have never written an online review, let alone a negative one, but do not want anyone to experience what we did. On a long road trip, we were stopping in WV on our way to Washington DC and Yokum's seemed to be perfectly situated. We arrived shortly after 7 and expected to have dinner in their "restaurant", which was...

We really enjoyed our stay, despite a lot of spiders that is the only complaint I had. The cats roaming around on the back Porch seemed friendly enough and the kitchen area was very homely. To the left there is a nice river crossing and a great little hike up to the top of the over look. I thought the...
