Together with rifugio Sennes, Biella and Fanes, rifugio Fodara lies at the heart of the stunning Fanes-Sennes-Braies Natural Park of the Dolomites. While Biella is pretty spartan and is owned by the Italian alpine club (CAI) the other three are privately owned, clean and well entertained. All of them have stunning views on the dolomites. Like Sennes, Fodara is surrounded... More

With many hut to hut trips in our past we felt sure we could easily always find a room. We have made many trips in September and there was never a problem. Wrong--this September we discovered many huts completely full. We were at Scotoni and could not find another room at Fanes or Peduri. Fortunately, we found Fodora and fell... More

For a remote rifugio that is difficult to get to by vehicle this is an impressive place. Very clean and well taken care of. We were hiking the Alta Via 1 - and at the time we stayed part of the building was under renovations to build a new dormitory. Food was very good and staff helpful.

Felt very welcomed in this family run mountain " hut" whilst mountain biking. Try and get there mid afternoon, so you can enjoy a drink with nibbles on the terrace, and watch the cows with bells go past and just chill. You can't not relax here. Rooms upstairs were fine with strong showers and comfy beds

My husband, my three boys and I stayed here in June while we were hiking "hut to hut" and it was wonderful. The family that runs it was so friendly. We loved that there were 3 generations with the grandchildren running around having good old fashioned fun. The food was delicious. We had homemade spinach ravioli, grilled pork with vegetables... We stayed here one night after a long day of hiking and it was such a treat. Go for a private room and you're treated to all the modern amenities, including a luxurious bathroom with a very hot shower. Dinner was delicious, the owners are courteous and kind and very helpful. I will stay here again.

We stayed here one night as part of our hut to hut hike through the Dolomites. The rifugio is charming and quaint...the owner was very friendly and helpful! Because it was our honeymoon, we had booked a private room with private bath...the accommodations were very clean and comfortable...complete with a balcony with a view! Breakfast and dinner was included and... More

This is far more than your typical refuge ... they have some really nice rooms, as well as dormitory accommodation. Great location (albeit only a short hike from the roadhead at Pederu). Really friendly and helpful owners. Very good food.

This refuge was fantastic. We had a warm welcome after a long days hike from Cortina, they quickly found my booking and after leaving damp kit in the drying room we were directed to a cosy room on the top floor. The room and ensuite facilities were spotless, with thick feather duvets and a much appreciated hot shower. There was... More

Wow wow wow!!! Set in amazing surroundings this place is a must for all! Having cycled from Cortina, Fodara Vedla had been recommended by a local. We were not disappointed. With Franziskaner on tap and home made local food made with love, what more could you want?! It's a must!
