A lot of stairs to climb. This is not the place to stay if you have difficulty with stairs. The room was clean. The breakfast was terrible. h Hostess did a lot of talking about herself which was not interesting.

The "Bed and Breakfast" experience has been often romantacized. Well, this isn't a "fantasy" Bed and breakfast. The Bed and Breakfast itself is a labor of love for the owner - she's been trying (mostly on her own) to restore this 100 year old victorian home. And, generally, Bed and Breakfast hosts are the types of people who enjoy having...

Michelle is awesome and very accommodating. The house was beautiful, the rooms equally so. I haven't had breakfast yet, but I am sure that will be excellent as well. I got along with the owner right off the top. Sat in the middle of the foyer with her and her dog Lilly. We took a walk around the block and...

Overall thought this bed and breakfast was good. House is beautiful, and the room was large. (We stated in the whirpool suite). House overall was rather cluttered, which made it more difficult to enjoy the old beauty of the home. This could simply be toned down a bit. We read reviews before coming that the host, Michelle, was rather chatty....

We stayed here in July 2015, This is a beautiful old house built around 1902 by a man who made his money selling clothes among other things. It has the gas lite figure on the beginning of the main staircase that still works. I would think it is electric now. Michelle said that there was a wall between the parlor...

Clean, well-appointed bedroom; huge, private indoor porch/sitting area off the bedroom; comfortable bed and a big, fluffy towels, clean bathroom with standing shower; great breakfast of blueberry pancakes, eggs & ham, juice & coffee. Nice proprietor, sweet old dog. Private parking in the back. We even got a tour of the place and some of the history--better, perhaps, for more...

We've visited more than 30 B&Bs & this is the 1st time we're submitting a bad review. Make sure you bring a laptop so you can get limited TV. Although the house & food were very good, the hostess complained through each meal about the town, her neighbors & every topic you could imagine. We couldn't get a word in....

Do you like your belongings rifled through, a mediocre meal, made with local ingredients, and by local, I mean local food pantry. A gorgeous front porch, that at any point may collapse? How about meeting new friends, as it is also an illegal boarding house. The owner has so much to offer as far as conversation goes, you may just...

This is a true bed and breakfast. I have stayed in scores of rooms and the Scarlett House is one the few that lives up to the term of bed and breakfast. The rooms ( i peeked in the others) are wonderful and very clean. The house is a treasure of Victorian architetcural history. So is the neighborhood. The innkeeper...

We stayed here at the last minute instead of going to a hotel. The owner is quirky but fun. The rooms lacked privacy as there was nothing more than lace covering the windows. Which also made it difficult to sleep past 6 a.m. when the sun came up. Our room was on the east side of the house facing south...
