I recently stayed at the Hillcrest Motel (simplicity inn - new name) and had read the negative reviews. I needed to stay near the Marshfield Clinic because a family member was in ICU, this was the closest option. When we pulled in I was a tad skeptical because it's a bit rough outside. However, the new owners of less than a month are absolutely amazing - Darby, Brian and Harvey made our stay incredible. They are gracious hosts and went out of their way to accommodate us. They have made many improvements and are making more everyday! I hope I never have to go back to Marshfield but if I do I'm staying at the SIMPLICITY INN (Hillcrest is sold and gone). Just needed a place to stay for the night because I was having a procedure done at the hospital the next morning. We also had a dog with us which was no problem which was nice. But we got there and the guy never smiled it just seemed like we were bothering him, just seemed unpleasant. Got to our room didnt seem to bad at first but then you see it was very dirty. The ceiling had big cobwebs the bass boards where just filthy the ceilings had what looked like black mold and water spots. The microwave had something dripping down the sides and the bathroom shower (walls and tub) where filthy . I wasn't expecting alot for the price but I did expect it to be clean. Its just sad owners don't seem to care what there place looks like. I dont know if because we had a dog we got a bad room but that should make no difference. So needless to say I wont stay there again.

Quiet hotel easy to find, but needs renovating. The bath tub was literally 12" high and in very rough shape. Rooms need better layout management the bed was up against the wall practically very little room for the person on that side to get out. Dog friendly was wonderful. You pay for what you get.

We made reservations for August 19-21, on July 19th, when we went confirm July 29,they had chargered us for a no show on July 19,and completed our credit card transaction. The proprietor was very rude and snippy, now we are working with our credit card company to dispute the claim, would not recommend anyone stay there

It is an old motel, but very clean. It is perfect for someone on a low budget, close to the hospital, and served my need for sleep and a shower. They have a breakfast that is not terribly awful also. For $50, I have no complaints.
