When I travel, I try to stay away from chain hotels and restaurants. You can always find a diamond in the rough. Well, this motel did not let us down. Owner run can make a big difference. The room was clean, neat and homey. The rates were unbelievable. I will definitely stay there again. Thanks for a great nights rest.

I love vintage motels. You know, the old-style strip motels typically located on the outskirts of Smalltown USA - privately owned and eclectically decorated. Well, the Dairyland Motel in Mineral Point, Wi is very similar with a twist – rather than rooms all in a row many of the rooms are small individual cottages. I recently visited the Dairyland (10/28/16)...

I've stayed at my share of motels over 60 years, and this is one of the finest I've encountered. Along with Napp's Motel in Fennimore and the Holiday Music Motel in Sturgeon Bay, this is surely one of the standout family-owned classics of Wisconsin. Squeaky clean, retro-cool without trying to be, unbelievably inexpensive (the prices match it's early 70s vibe),...

We've stayed here many times when we visit our adopted hometown of Mineral Point. The rooms and hospitality here are so cozy that we call it "Grandma's house," and look forward to Mark, Virginia and our room almost as much as we do the play or event that we've planned. Rooms are not fancy but they are comfortable and immaculately...

Easy place to stop for the night. Rooms are old but kept up very well. Kwiktrip fuel station right in front of motel so easy to get something quick to eat or drink right there. Was fairly quiet and comfortable.

Scarcon: Incredibly reasonably priced vintage motor hotel.Lawn and picnic tables and great innkeepers.Nice oasis.Town has story about "pasties" and the miners.Stay away from the pasties. They are glooey gut-bombs full of dry meat.Do not fall for the hype.

We've stayed at this motel a few times. Mark is a great business owner and his mom manages the place - what a great team! The place is modest, and has good mattresses and nice bathrooms. You can park right outside. ***Bonus: it is right near the cemetery where Allen Ludden is buried.*** ...and the Iowa County fairgrounds.

Perfect little motel from another time, all done up in See's Kitchen black and white. Fridge, microwave, wi-fi and cable, everything nicely maintained, and neat as a pin. No ice machine, no breakfast, but who cares? There's a Kwik-stop 40 feet away. If you're lucky, Virginia will check you in - she's a great lady.

We rarely stay in what is basically a roadside inn, but this is the only dog friendly place in town. This is a collection of buildings of various sizes. We were in a "duplex" building with 2 queen beds. It was a decent space for the two of us and the dog. The hosts were very friendly. It was recently...

What a lovely little motel. We had 3 rooms...1 with one queen bed and 2 rooms with 2 queen beds. The place is spotless. Great location. Biker friendly. Mark and Virginia are incredible hosts. Mark mapped out a beautiful country ride for us one day. Loved it because there was a grill and picnic table. Perfect for staying "in" and...
