Staying in an historical property can be fun, especially when they are located close to other historical sites. That is destroyed when the hotel has not been updated and the elevator does not work. My wife and I had a forth floor room and had to carry our luggage up four flights of stairs. In addition, the hotel restaurant had...

It was ok, there is only off-street parking, and the elevator is broken (I'm just hoping they have a back up plan for disabled or handicapped visitors). Also, my sink drain as well as my shower drain did not drain very fast (bath in the shower). I think the staff are trying to do the best they can with such...

Nice vintage old west charm. Unfortunately the ONLY guest elevator has been broken for over 3 weeks now as per the front desk upon check in. Be prepared to haul any luggage up very narrow curving staircases and hopefully you didn't book a 4th floor room. Beyond that issue its a wonderful old world hotel with friendly service and plenty...

I really liked the feel of this old hotel. The lobby and hallways are filled with old West artifacts. It is centrally located near the charming railroad station. I experienced no street noise nor train noise. The staff was knowledgeable and helpful. The free breakfast is an added plus. Be sure to check out the menu reproductions from the 1900's...

We happened to stop in. I did not think the hotel would be in our budget. The staff was very friendly. We talked with them for a while about Cheyenne. They told us of their special for the night. Very affordable. Hotel had so much character and charm. Beautiful restaurant which now only serves breakfast to the guests. This hotel...

This seemed like a cool place to stay and it definitely is. The hotel is listed on the National Registry of Historic Places and the history is on full display. The hotel was remodeled so all the modern conveniences are present. I was put in a room overlooking the main street and noticed quite a bit of traffic noise. It...

I stayed at this hotel last summer and was so pleased with it's historic feel, but modern rooms. Bed was quite comfortable, not to mention just sort of an allover comfortable feeling you get when you first enter the lobby. Within walking distance to lots of cute shops, bars and restaurants - though I enjoyed most meals in the hotel....

I made an unscheduled stop in Cheyenne Wyoming and didn't really know where to stay the night. I located the Plains Hotel on Tripadvisor and it provided a rate. I went inside to the front desk and was quoted significantly higher rate. I showed the staff member the Tripadvisor rate and was immediately treated very rudely. The staff member stated...

Visiting from New York City, I ate at the Plains Hotel Dining Room three times during my nine day stay, and every time I got sophisticated Continental cuisine prepared to absolute perfection by Chef Christine. Buffalo carpaccio appetizer, prime rib main course, roast chicken roulade marsala mushrooms, and little potatoes another day--and my favorite, braised salmon with pear custard for...
