An old-school good motel. It reminded me of vacations when I was a kid, including the giant bear at the front entrance. The place was clean, the rooms were spacious, the beds were comfortable. The owner was friendly. Extra conveniences - like a laundry facility - made this a perfect stop for the Yellowstone part of our cross-country adventure.

Stayed here one night in November, going to Yellowstone. Excellent mattresses, clean room, very large. We were on the second floor. The motel is right across the street from good breakfast, and walking distance (AFTER drinks and steak!) from several excellent places to eat dinner. Theres a good gun store right across the street. Parking lot was clean, full of... More

The hotel looks like any strip hotel found on any major road linking the cities in the West that isn't a main highway, but the rooms are surprisingly spacious and well-appointed. We stayed in a family room with a triangle-shaped bunk bed for the kids, which they loved. There was live music near the office the evenings we stayed there.... More

Stayed here one night on our way back to NW Montana. Staff was friendly and the room was very clean and comfortable. It's an older model but it looks like they have made an effort to update a bit. The shower here was super hot. We would stay here again.

This is an old motel...and it feels old. However, the rates are good and the place is clean. There is no breakfast served. The room has a refigerator and a microwave...there is wi-fi. Pets are accepted for a fee. The rooms feel small, especially if you get a room with two beds as we did. A great plus with an... More

Motels are very convenient in such a way that you can park right in front of your room. We work hard to make sure your stay is clean and comfortable, because even though we may be one of the oldest standing lodgings in Cody, it is our duty to make sure we are the cleanest. Thank you for staying with... More

We made our reservation for one of their new separate cabins. It is very basic but clean and quiet. We had the one next to the horse corral and were "warned" not to park to close to the horses :-). For a one night stay and a unique experience it's Ok but longer it would be a bit uncomfortable.

Thank you for choosing the Big Bear, perhaps we can accommodate you in a more comfortable room type the next time you are in Cody, we would really appreciate the opportunity to have your... More

Stayed two nights with our two dachshunds (most every one staying here was traveling with a dog). Very clean, pretty good bed, rooms are small, but adequate. Has fridge and microwave in room, but no coffee pot, decent selection of channels on tv.

With many lodgings not being pet friendly, it is an opportunity for us to accommodate those travelling with their furry friends. Big Bear has pet friendly rooms, but also more room types than that. Thank you for staying with us, we appreciate your feedback and welcome you back the next time you are in Cody! More

We had a 2nd floor room...no elevator. It's a 'park by your room' type of motel. All doors are exterior doors. The room was huge by hotel standards. They have chairs and a side table outside the door. We had a fantastic view of the mountains which seemed so close you could walk to them (although they weren't). The view... More

Big Bear has many room types and the upstairs is definitely a great place to watch the mountains and the weather. Big Bear is conveniently located near the rodeo and to Yellowstone, and makes a great place to base your vacation in this area. In the summer months we offer free pony rides for the kids, and free live western entertainment in the evenings. We recommend that you return to us during the summer, you will thoroughly enjoy it! We stayed upon leaving Yellowstone heading east. It is no frills, but our large, recently remodeled, with a view room was a real cowboy delight. The people were so friendly and helpful. And the price was very reasonable. I would definitely recommend Big Bear motel.
