The ranch is beautiful, horses well trained, excellent food, comfortable sleeping accommodations, and full days of work. However, the ranchers provide little feedback to riders/visitors. Although I've ridden my entire life, I do not have much experience working cattle. I wanted direction on how to do work them properly and found myself frequently having to ask instead of being told....

Some trips just have to be shared and the Western experience at the Dryhead Ranch with the Bassett family was on the top of my list, My husband and I have been out several times. This time I was fortunate to be able to bring my 15 year old granddaughter. I have been able to travel to various countries and...

Food, horses, people, land and everything else in between was amazing. Would recommend to every horse and non horse person I know. Cabins were beautiful and clean, and you could see right to the canyon from the window. We experienced heat, rain and snow in the same week, so be prepared for all types of weather. Oatmeal was amazing. Many...

Everything you need to know about Dryhead Ranch is stated wonderfully in all other "Excellent" reviews here. Well deserved praise. I echo every word. When I came to book this trip I mistakenly read the one, somewhat irate "Terrible" review here and was admittedly slightly wary ahead of my arrival at the ranch. Unfairly so! (the "Poor" review is very...

We rounded up around...

Wonderful hosts, great horses, huge, healthy cattle. I helped with calf weaning this fall. Each day in the saddle doing ranch work ended dusty, dirty, tired and very happy - who could ask for more! A hot shower? That too!

Just spent a week at the Dryhead Ranch in Montana. Every time I road over the ridge on a hill, mountain or bluff there was another postcard of beauty in front of me. It was amazing! However the family that owns and operates the ranch was the true blessing. The values that have made America the greatest nation on earth...

Having a great week riding horses (haven't ridden before) and getting to drive cattle and horses. The family and ranch hands here are nice, attentive to your riding abilities, and they know what they're doing. We've been well fed and the accommodations are fine, considering this is a working ranch in the open country of Montana. GREAT vistas and photo...

The Dryhead is not only a very beautiful and scenic area, but the family that runs the ranch is a good example of Christian family values. Before meals was a prayer led by either a member of the family or a guest. During meals the members of the family sat and ate with the guests including their two little girls...

I had a GREAT time a Dryhead ! The scenery is incredible. I've never seen anything like it in my life. The great thing is that every trail is different. You get to see canyons, plains, mountains, hills... You see something different every day. The bunkhouse is cosy and clean. The food is good. The staff always eat last and...

“In the bunkhouse, the upstairs-big rooms- are the nicest. Did not stay in the cabins, but visited, they are nice and comfortable. Nothing in the world like waking up to a horse at your front door.”
