The hotel room (deluxe room overlooking the koi pond, with a partial ocean view), was clean, but had a musty smell. Little balcony. Probably the only rooms we'd want to stay in, as some of the other rooms would have no view or just an industrial view. The wifi was difficult to connect to. You'd be connected, then it would...

Hilo seaside is really great place to stay in wonderful Big Island. I have stayed 4 nights with my son in a room near to the pool, it was perfect.. people in reception are real, nothing like in any business hotel, it is family run for a long time, there is a small museum inside of the hotel, and it...

Who knew that a place which looked rather ordinary from the outside would be so charming within? The rooms all surround different yet lovely inner sanctuaries with a true Hawaiian flavor. The room we had was near the pool which was ensconced in a beautiful tropical garden. Other areas have similar garden-like settings. The hotel has a quiet policy so...

We stayed here four days and I liked it more the longer we stayed. A few negatives---it is right next to the airport and gets airplane noise, but they keep reasonable quiet hours. The rooms are small and dated, especially the bathrooms. But the positives are really great---fast wifi, beautiful courtyard gardens, koi pond, nice pool, convenient location, good on...

There are not a lot of options in Hilo, regardless of the category you want. While in most circumstances, the Hilo Seaside would be considered a two star at best, in Hilo, this is a very good alternative. This is a family owned property and a taste of old Hawaii. The rooms are clean, with comfortoable beds and a small...

We spent one night at the Hilo Seaside Hotel. We found it clean, the service quite friendly and quite suitable for our overnight stay in Hilo. It is conveniently located (compared to Kona) to the volcano and observatory. We had an adequate breakfast (came with the room) in the adjoining restaurant. All in all a nice place for our short...

We purposely selected a hotel on Hilo side of the Big Island. Unlike Kona area where things seems to be very busy. Nice area for touring various waterfalls, botanical gardens, volcano park, and nature hikes. No courtesy breakfasts but do have a restaurant opened from 7:00 am until food runs out around 7:00pm. We arrived after 12 hours of air...

We stayed three nights. Breakfast was provided in the connected restaurant. The hotel is very unusual and was probably quite a place in its time. The reception area is open air, the pool is surrounded by rooms, some rooms surround small garden areas. Our room overlooked koi ponds to the front of the property and we had a view of...

We stayed two separate nights at the seaside hotel. This hotel i of low standard but worst of all low service! The check in was at 3 pm and we showed up 1.30 pm and they said they had no available rooms. First I find that hard to believe (guess not the hotel was fully booked the day before?!) and...
