I’ve stayed here twice and wouldn’t go anywhere else in Hilo. A beautiful restored house on the edge of the sea. There’s nothing like falling asleep to the surf and the tree frogs, then waking up to macadamia pancakes along with bananas grown on the property. Rooms are spotless with service every day. WiFi is strong. Staff are lovely and available to help any time if you have questions or want advice about activities in and around Hilo.
If you are considering this location for your stay in Hilo, just book the room. You will feel at home and have everything you need at your finger tips for your stay in Hilo. The hosts are warm and generous. The food was delicious and the parking was a breeze. We booked a room with the ocean view and felt like we could enjoy being in our room as much as exploring. Falling asleep to the sound of the ocean was a delightful finishing touch. It's located conveniently close to food and jumping off for road trips - yet it feels secluded and we heard no city/road noise.
We had a fine oceanfront room and great service from Totemi and Brian, who went out of their way to suggest places to see. Owners Everett and Cheryl have gone a fine job in restoring a 100-year-old home and turning it into a b&b. Do have the macadamia nut and coconut pancakes: wonderful.
Booked this room thru Expedia 10 minutes before showing up at the place. We were warmly greeted by the owners and they assisted us in taking our luggage in. They let us chose between the 2 rooms they had available. They were amazing hosts. They offered us hot and cold beverages and snacks. they even drove us into town and dropped us off. The rooms and the views were gorgeous. Great breakfast in the morning and they even sent us away with fresh baked banana bread they made that morning when we left. Can't wait to come back again.
Enjoyed our stay here. The room was spacious & very comfortable. A nice breakfast is served each morning by a very friendly couple who live on the property. The sounds of the ocean are very soothing (& drowns out the noisy coqui frogs!)
We arrived after a long wonderful day of driving from Kahului through the Volcano National Park on to Hilo. We planned to go back Volcano National Park but we were so entranced by our wonderful room and stay in Old Wailuku Inn that we took our time going out for the day! The view of the sea is spectacular from the dining nook or from the seaview rooms. You can watch the sun rise over the water from the Inn which sits on a cliff over the Pacific Ocean. Unobstructed and beautiful. The hosts were absolutely welcoming and helpful in every way. They made us feel like family or old friends. Their advice helped us and they referred us to a perfect restaurant for dinner. There was a generous inn kitchen with beverages and there were books and games as well as beautiful rooms and dining area. We loved the beautiful and customized breakfast!…
We spent a couple of days in this nice location and were pleased by the extreme friendly service of Bill. The room was spacy, clean and nicely furnished. From the breakfast room we had a nice view on the bay of Hilo. Within walking distance the center of Hilo can be reached.
We spent three nights here. Very quiet get away! Breakfast cooked daily to order; coffee always available. Easy access to Hilo; lots of good restaurants. Very friendly and accommodating owner. We enjoyed our time.
We really liked this place. Our room was literally on the shore, as in five feet from the water. It was big and beautifully decorated. First time I’ve ever asked a B&B owner where she got the linens. The bed was a bit soft but comfortable. The bathroom, a former closet, was small but really well done. There was a table and chairs where we ate dinner. I’m sure we could have eaten in the breakfast room. Breakfast! Wow, it was really good. The selection of jams and syrup was fun. We bought a few of them once we got home. The couple and their staff were very nice people.
Most amazing room ever Our room had a corner of windows right above the ocean. The endless sounds of the waves was amazing. I don’t think I will ever sleep right above waves like this again. Easy location in Hilo. I would pick that room again. Nice breakfast. Nice hosts. I We used their snorkeling equipment.
