The hotel is pretty good after the remodeling. Great location right next to the Liliuokalani Gardens, Coconut Island and close to CarlSmith beach . Food options are not so great since the restaurant in the lobby is a bit on the high side. But there are many local options within minutes of driving from here. 5 minute drive from Walmart...

We stayed only 1 night at this hotel but it was a nice comfortable stay! Walking into the lobby was awesome, it smelled so good of tropical flowers and was decorated lovely for the Christmas season! Check in was very easy. We were given a room on the 3rd floor which was ewe(we saw a lot of roof) wish we...

Most hotels offer rooms for people with disabilities but generally these rooms are disappointing. Often at the back of the building with one King bed. Castle Hilo Hawaiian is the first, of 6, hotels in Hawaii that just got it. Their disability accessible room has a beautiful ocean view, a full roll in shower and two beds (not everyone who...

Stayed here over the holidays for two nights while in Hilo. This is a good mid range hotel and certainly better than most other hotels in the area. The rooms are clean but nothing fancy. Views of the bay are nice. We did not eat at the restaurant but it seemed relatively expensive.

This hotel is in a very nice area and well maintained. We had a very nice time staying here. I would recommend paying more and getting the bay view as the views are very nice. We had a courtyard view, which was great as well. I would definitely come back.

We stayed at Hilo Hawaiian in February 2011. We were island hopping and found rooms at half price here for our stay in Hilo. It was about $120 usd. We were staying in Hilo to be close to Volcanoes National park, Akaka falls, a zip line place near the falls and botanical gardens, and the black sand beach at the...

It's not brand new, but it's in good shape and the rooms are larger than is typical in modern Hawaiian hotels. We used it to get an earlier start on our day at the volcano national park. No noise problems, except the frogs at night, and drawing the heavy curtains in addition to closing the balcony doors is helpful. The...

We stayed overnight after several days on the west coast of the Big Island so we could be close to Hawaiian Volcanoes National Park. Were pleased with the hotel. No particular frills but the hotel was clean and well air-conditioned. The thrill of the stay, however, was waking up in a seemingly rare clear morning in Hilo and opening our...

Stayed here for one night whilst traveling around the big island and exploring the state parks that are close by to Hilo. The rooms are spacious and comfortable. Bed mattresses and thick and comfortable too. Rooms are quiet. Hotel has parking and has a shop right outside where you can pick up coffee. They have two restaurants where you can...
