I hesitate to write this review, but I wish we knew some of these things before we stayed here. The room was beautiful and the property was nice. The owner was very kind. However, when we arrived we learned the "common areas" were off limits after sunset and we could have no food or drink in our room or on... More

We just spent two delightful, evenings at the Orchid Inn in Holualoa, Hawaii. We stayed in the Zanzibar Suite, which has the most incredible ocean views anytime day or night. The exotic four poster bed is sumptiously outfitted with wonderful feather-soft pillows and a furry zebra print comforter that kept us cozy at night. The sweet little town of Holualoa... More

We stayed at the Orchid Inn October 16-23 in the Garden Suite . We loved the openness of the room and the fresh air however, the suite basically has no windows, just screens so she can probably hear just about everything, I think, wink wink. ;-) Otherwise the Inn has a 5 in our book. The grounds were beautiful. The... More

My spouse and I stayed in the Garden Suite for a couple of days and found the experience absolutely delightful. The photos on the website accurately depict this charming, private suite. The walls facing the ocean are either glass or net doors so we fell in love with the openness of the place. This feature allowed us to go to... More

I booked a two night stay at The Orchid Inn on October 21 & 22, 2008 in conjunction with my destination wedding. The home is absolutely stunning and the attention to detail is amazing. The owner was willing to personalize my visit and even provided breakfast (for a small fee) for members of our wedding party who were not guests... More

My wife, three children, and I stayed at the Orchid Inn for three nights during our visit to the Ford Ironman World Championship on October 11, 2008. Our younger son competed in the Ironman for the first time, and had a wonderful experience. We all thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Inn. The proprietress, Ms. Darrelyn Gravett, was a warm,... Although I live in the beautiful state of Hawaii (on the island of Oahu) every once in awhile it's good to get away to one of the other islands. I chose The Big Island on my recent mini vacation and am so glad that I did! Not only did I have access to all of the fabulous sites The Big... More

Nancy and I spent 5 wonderful nights at The Orchid Inn. The view was superb, the suite refreshing and the conversation enjoyable. Darrelyn provided excellent sightseeing information and was a remarkable host (and a good scrabble player too!). We will definitely stay at The Orchid Inn on our next visit to the Big island. Our stay at the Orchid Inn in Holualoa, Hawaii was absolutely delightful. Our room, the Zanzibar Suite, was appropriately decorated to carry out the African theme and very comfortable. We had our own private lanai overlooking gorgeous tropical gardens that surround the inn. The proprietress, Darrelyn Gravett, is very friendly and welcoming. She loves her island and enjoys suggesting nearby... More

The Orchid Inn invites you into another time and place...think lush, country-Hawaiian. If you’re looking for local flavor, a short winding ride up the Kona hillside from Kileua will put you there, in elegant style. The Inn sits back off a long alley-kind of driveway densely framed by coffee plants, beans dangling within arm’s reach. A lava-rocked gateway opens out... More
