Stayed here for 4 nights in January '16 in the dorm. First the good stuff: great atmosphere, clean, quiet time 10pm-6am is observed, you can pay by credit card, there's parking space and a washing machine. Not so great: location (far away from everything, except the cptn Cook trail), cold nights in uncomfortable beds, the general attitude of the owner....

My overall experience with this hostel was good. The price is fairly good. The common area are the cleaner I saw in Hawaii, and they are lovely. The living room with the couch and cozy spots are nice. A big plus for me was the really warm water in the showers. Annie, the manager, is kinda weird on money, but...

Awesome little place, great atmosphere, affordable rooms, friendly people, helpful staff. Only flaws being location (slightly out of the way) and difficult to get a car park there. Well worth a stay if your in that part of the Big Island.

A good place to meet people bit outside of town. You need a car to get around. There are buses running bit they wont bring you to good spots to see something. I had no car but I met many people who had one and took me with them on trips. The hostel is very clean. There are some rules...

Hi everyone, If you plan to visit the big Island Kona area in Hawaii. The Pineapple Kona Park is the only hostel there. It is cheap so I chose it. However the korean receptionist maybe the owner too (?) Was really meant and nasty to me. When I checked out the room at 10am, I asked if it is possible...

The hostel is unfriendly, has cobwebs on the lamps and has huge cockroaches running around. I didn't have my own transport and asked if there was a bus I could get to a trip I had planned, they have a 'shuttle bus' which is actually just a truck with a cushion crammed behind the front seats and the space in...

Really nice and clean place to spend your time in Hawai'i while meeting people from all around the world. I had a blast there with the staff and the guests. The location is awesome if you're truly looking for a hawaiian experience due to it isn'tt in the tiny kind of urban Downtown but in the outside, really close to...

This place is a bit of paradise on the island. Clean, friendly and comfortable. Easily accessible from the road, secure with a common code and wifi. The views and breeze from the ocean are fantastic so plan on watching the sunset some night from the second floor.

Don't go there !! The owner is not nice, she lock the showers at 10h p.m. but she don't tell you.. for the dorm they don't have doors so cockroach can easily come in and the owner know the problem but she do nothing.. IMPORTANT check the room before you pay because she don't refund even if you don't sleep...

Nice clean hostel and comfortable bed. The staff was really helpful and very accommodating. One of the staff Allen took me to a local cliff jumping rock, it was awesome!! One tip would be to rent a car, as everything is very spread out on the Big Island and busses seldom run.
