My husband and I stayed at Da Log House for a couple nights as part of our 10th anniversary trip to Hawaii/Big Island. The location is about an hour drive from Volcano, and maybe 30 minutes from HiLo. The owners have a beautiful log cabin with a couple rooms available for rent. Compared to other B&B experiences, we felt more...

My husband and I had a wonderful stay at this B&B. Susie and Daniel are wonderful hosts and really went out of their way to provide us with advice, various equipment needs, and tasty breakfasts. This is a convenient location if you are planning to visit Puna and Volcan NP.

Once in Hilo I searched high and low for a nice place to stay at not a "Four Seasons" price. What I found in the Da Log house far exceeded my expectations. The room quality was that of a Four Seasons, the breakfasts were extremely good featuring a great deal of local food, and Dan and Susi are a few...

The location of the Da Log House is off the beaten track, but still close to Hilo, the Volcano NP and the ocean in these areas. The rooms are beautifully set up, have a beautiful terrasse from which you can see the ocean and just can enjoy the serenity of the beautiful backyard. The style of the log house is...

We had a wonderful stay. The room was spacious and clean. The breakfast was excellent (eggs, Portugese sausage, Punalu'u sweet bread toast, fresh papaya and pineapple, etc). The bed was large and comfortable. The location was very convenient to everything at Hilo and Puna. All advice was accurate and well chosen. While there we went hiking the Kilauea-Iki Trail at...

“They have two rooms since I am by myself I just stay in the smaller room with one bed for two people. They have a larger room that can accommodate multiple people upstairs.”
kasgardens, 13 May 2014 | Read review
“Like other places we stayed at in Hawaii, the only potential drawback is the non-traditional bathroom configuration separating the bedroom from the bathroom. We implemented the "cone of silence" rule and just rolled with it. This may bother some folks, but we didn't want to stay at a big-name chain hotel and so we adapted to the unique set-up. And, I believe, there are rooms that have options for a separate, shared bathroom.”
