Kalani is an amazing retreat for couples, families or the solo traveler. The food is fresh, healthy, and absolutely delicious... I actually put on weight eating so much. There are lots of places to just chill in nature or read a book. In addition, there's a clothing optional pool and an activity area where you can take yoga classes, dance...

Had a great stay at Kalani. An awesome location right on the North Shore, walking distance from Rocky's and many other surf breaks. Bernie really went out of his way to help us out with surfing advice and we met a bunch of great people. The place is very clean and comfortable and has a great relaxed vibe. Really value...

After an 18 year hiatus, my partner and I returned to Kalani and were warmly welcomed by the staff of this offbeat Eco retreat on the gorgeous Puna coast of the big Island of Hawaii. Offbeat might be a turn off to some, but we were prepared for no AC, no Marriott-type amenities etc. What surprised us however was how...

This is not your typical resort. I am used to regular hotels and had never participated in a yoga retreat. I was out of my comfort zone for sure! Once I got there, my friend and I had a bungalow waiting for us. The bungalows are open air, meaning no glass. At first, this was a bit concerning, but after...

We stayed here in 1993 (pre-Trip Advisor), and being inquisitve, thought I'd check and see if things have improved......apparently not, judging from the several less than stellar reviews. When we were here, our reservation was made for several nights. After one horrendously noisy, buggy night in a shoddly made room which had so many holes in the screens they were...

This place is amazing! We had the most wonderful experience here! There is so much peace and tranquility here. The grounds are beautiful, so lush and tropical. The food is great, don't expect fancy gourmet stuff but it is delicious and healthy. We tried many different yoga classes and they were all awesome. Service here is good, everyone is very...

There were so many cars traveling back and forth, I could have been on the Mainland. The trails were difficult to walk. The food was excellent and served with care and concern although the schedule was too rigid.

Aloha Ahualoa, Kalani Honua, translates as "harmony of heaven and earth," and we have maintained this original name and intention for over 40 years. Kalani has expanded to include our eco-village and steward cottages on Kalani Kai and Kalani Mauka - which is why many commonly refer to our retreat center simply as Kalani. That being said, the heritage and...

We didn't stay at Kalani ( we were just up the road), we ate dinner here one night. I would have given the food a rating of 3....it was ok, but the atmosphere and vibe here is incredible. A huge peaceful property, with accommodation dotted throughout the gardens. I think it would be a wonderful experience to stay here and...

Aloha Niteskye and thank you for your review! Please consider staying with us the next time you are on the island. We serve three fresh meals every day from our volunteer-powered kitchen, including fruit/salad bar, house made dressings, and different entrees and side dishes to choose from. We also try to include something for all different kinds of eaters -...

The food, massage, watsu, pool, classes!! It's all amazing. I didn't want to leave. You must partake in the body work. The watsu is heavenly. I loved the casual friendly atmosphere. And you must try a chocolate chip cookie from the guest service center! The only thing that I would add is ice cream at lunch and dinner.

I just had a mostly wonderful stay at Kalani. The accommodations are rustic but great, and the staff does a fine job of making sure you will be comfortable. It is located right on the Puna Coast of the Big Island which is one of the most beautiful places in the world with the freshest air in the world, I...
