This was an incredibly convenient place to stay on the Hilo side. We used this as our base to explore Volcano National Park, to take our lava boat tour, and to explore the waterfalls & tide pools. The cabin itself is not glamorous, but it suited our purposes. Our very favorite part was the back porch - we had take-out...

This place has potential to be really great. Although Kahi Malu had a nice layout and good space, it was incredibly damp. It felt like we were sleeping on wet sheets every night which was pretty uncomfortable. The place needs an air conditioner or a dehumidifier. The kitchen has a bit of a bug problem. If you leave any food...

We stayed two nights at Nohea cottage while visiting Hawaii Volcano National Park. The cottage is beautiful and well-designed. The bedroom has large windows on all three walls, giving you the feeling of sleeping in the lush rain forest. The lanai (porch) is a beautiful spot to have breakfast or drinks. Nice shower/bathroom. The kitchen is well-stocked. There are even...

We stayed at Nohea during our 2 night visit to Volcano. Kathryn greeted us with a beautiful house and tons of great information and maps for the National Park. The house is surrounded by the song of birds. It's so peaceful. You will not be disappointed.

This cottage located in the middle of this beautiful rain forest and very close to the Volcano National park (approx 8 mins drive to the visitor centre). We stayed at Kahi Malu for 2 nights, and enjoyed our mornings with birds singing. The owner Kathryn is so nice and friendly, she answered all my random questions and gave us very...

Kate's place was greatly located very close to the Volcano National Park. The owner was charming and very detail-oriented with us, leaving chocolates and slippers for us. She provided us with very useful information about the region. Kate is a lovely person and made us to feel like home. The place is beautiful and spacious enough for four people. Its...

This place is probably the prettiest cottage we have ever stayed in. It felt like a modern take on a Japanese ryokan. All light and wood - really, words can't do it justice. The kitchen was perfect - we cooked most nights - and very well-equipped. The bed was comfortably firm. Wifi lightning fast. Bring eye shades - the blinds...

This cottage was a work of art: absolutely beautiful, with carved wood and exquisite arrangements throughout. You can see that Nohea was designed and built with love. It was easily the best cottage we stayed of the 10 we hired between Maui and the big island over a month. It's inside the rain forest, just 3 mins from volcano village...

We spent 3 nights in Kate's Cottage with 2 adults and 1 child. The cottage worked great for us with a king sized bed and a futon. There was plenty of space for our family. The kitchen was fully stocked for cooking. We appreciated the cereal for a quick breakfast. The lanai was lovely and peaceful. The location is wonderful,...
