We wanted to see the active volcano on The Big Island. It's quite a journey from Kona, where we were staying. The weather was not kind, but the sight of molten lava a hot steam escaping the ground made up for all that. The Village Estates are a number of beautiful little houses, all individually designed and very nicely. The "two way" fire kept us very warm. The bed was perfect.
