You need to book knowing that you are getting very good value, because you are paying for clean accommodations close to the volcano park. I would stay here again, and definitely take advantage of the relationship they have with the Thai delivery restaurant!
Foremost a beautiful location surrounded by tropical jungle vegetation. Large rooms which have a two sided floor to ceiling window looking straight into the jungle from the bed. Other facilities in the room are fridge, dehumidifier, coffee percolator. Breakfast was special - freshly baked banana...More
We decided to stay near the Volcano Park for one night and called and were lucky enough to get a room. Very nice ladies in the office. Beautiful grounds and a very good breakfast on a nice wrap around porch. Decent price for a comfortable...More
We spent one night here, to be able to view the volcano (only minutes away) at night. The Inn is a 2 story building with small rooms, but beautiful views of the jungle at every angle. The bed was super comfy; the hot tub was...More
This was the best place I've stayed throughout my Hawaii trip. We had a large room - Mauna Loa with a queen size and king size bed. Natural light streamed in during the day. No need for aircon at night since it gets chilly then....More

Please understand that this is a "Mom and Pop" establishment and that credit card payments actually cost the proprietor money (a percent or two depending on the type of card). This is just one way the Volcano Inn keeps its prices down. This is a small establishment and I would bet they could not afford last minute cancellations (like big hotels can do because they have lots of rooms and are rarely completely full). I have tried many places to stay in Volcano and the Volcano Inn is far above all places that are less expensive as well as several of the more expensive places. I stay at Volcano Inn two the five times a year and have for the past five years. I like to book ahead (and send in my payment) to be sure I can stay there - it is that great! Plus, I like to give business to locals. For its price, the Volcano Inn is the very best bet. They are always very helpful and polite on the phone so if you had a problem with mailing your check from another country you could explain this to them and I bet they would keep your reservation and wait for your check.

"The dehumidifier in the room is noisy but blocks the sound of the frogs."
