Beautiful rain forest retreat. The location can not be more ideal for visiting the Hawaii Volcano National Park (barely a couple of miles away), but is secluded enough to feel a world away. Truly lovely. The rooms were spacious and very comfortable. Alan and Bonnie made us feel so welcome. Alan moved the basketball hoop so my son could shot...

Stayed for two nights in early July in one of the Twin cottages. Has full kitchen and pretty much everthing you might need. Nice and quiet at night for sleeping. It does get quite chilly at night even in July and the floor is cold so bring slippers or warm socks to wear. Otherwise a great place to stay, check...

We stayed here for 2 nights while in Volcano. The 24 hour breakfast lanai is very nice to have, it is always stocked with fresh fruits, cereals, pastries, coffee, and real milk!! It was over a month since I last had real milk so you can imagine how excited I was to find that out. In the check in lobby...

My goal is to explore the HVNP, so I decided to stay in the Volcano area for two nights. I flew to Kona airport and did road trip along the road, so I arrived the volcano area in the dark. I almost got lost until I called Bonnie right away. She gave me directions and a big hug when I...

We came it on our bikes from Kona. Very tired and very happy to find the place. Little hard to find, just ask at the grocery store if you are not sure where you are going. We had just a wonderful time. Everything is easygoing in this place, you fell you are supporting a good working family. Ecofriendly as well....

We stayed 2 nights in the Olapa guest house. Very clean, comfortable bed, and a very nice spread of fresh fruit, cereals, and breads for breakfast. Towels were a bit rough, but that's just me being picky. We were able to cook a couple of meals and relax after long days hiking in the park.

Snuggled into the lush tropical vegetation is this small bed and breakfast. I was thankful the directions given us were very good or we would never have found the place! We stayed in one of the Twins and we were there for almost a week. It rained almost the entire time we were there, but we had a great time!...

Stayed in November 2011. Best to check in before dark, only because it might be a little hard to find at night , the first time. Once you get there, you should have no problems locating. It is not far from the main hwy11, but it is in a rural area with houses hidden by rain forest and set back...

The accommodations are excellent as are the innkeepers. If you want to be fawned over at the Sheraton this is not the place or park for you. If you want a clean safe and fascinating cottage in a rain forest setting then it is awesome. The innkeepers are available but they run a farm etc and its nice to be...

This is a strange property - several cottages spread around what is essentially a large jungle garden. The cottages are old but have lots of character - beds with loads of enormous pillows and cushions, home made throws etc. The jungle is practically on top of you - massive flowers, leaves and trees growing lushly everywhere. Small kitchenette in our...
