Room was roomy with fantastic decor. Bathroom and shower were exceptional. Food provided was an added bonus and so tasty. The lava tube tour was amazing and unguided. Would definitely stay here again. The volcano is quite active with lava flowing into the sea

As other reviewers have said this place is a dump! We stayed in the "Honeymoon Suite". The room smelled so horribly of mold and mildew we could hardly sleep. We slept in our clothes. The water pressure in the tub for taking a bath was so low you'd need to turn it on hours before you want to bathe. All... More

We were lucky to be in the brand new room, where you can see from the inside the lava tube. The landlord managed to make a beautiful and luxury room, in harmony with nature. Very well furnished, charming and comfortable. Home cooked muffins for breakfast, yogourts, soup tea and coffee. Very convenient location to visit the parc. Close to restaurants,... More

This lodge is very convenient to Volcano National Park, about a 5-minute drive. It is near the junction of Hwy 111 and 148 where you turn right coming from Kona onto a one-lane road and go 4 driveways to the property. Then you go on a dirt driveway to the back of the property. Shannon and Dan, the owners, are... More

We started our two week trip to Hawaii on the Big Island and this was the perfect place to stay. We had the rather fabulous room 6. The bed and room in general was the most comfortable we've had in our three accommodations (we also went to Maui and Honolulu) and the bed was so comfortable I slept 12 hours... More

It is very difficult to find this hotel especially if you arrive there after dark. You would go by very dark road in the woods (no lights at all), then you would have turn into dark and narrow driveway (she road goes up and down, and you should be careful not to hit your car by the big tree branch... Lovely room in a quaint old house with a huge garden in the woods. Conveniently located near the Volcanoes National Park. Dan was friendly and gave us good tips. Breakfast was great, cakes, fresh fruit, cereals and coffee.

Funky house right outside of the volcano national park, affordable, in a peaceful rural setting. Our two bedroom apt was roomy and well appointed, clean. There is a large deck to sit out on. A nice breakfast with cereals and milk, juice, muffins, and various fruit was a nice surprise. Highly recommended.

We stumbled upon Aloha Crater Lodge by accident, and were so pleasantly surprised with the accommodations and treatment like family. We had booked a vacation rental house to stay in in Volcano, but much to our surprise and disappointment, discovered upon arrival that it was double booked. We had to scramble to find a place to stay for a family... More
