Nice location with good restaurant. However, it's is not as private as I had original thought. Unless you get the honeymoon suite, the two rooms next to it or the private cabinets. We got a room in the aloha house with a shared common room (not bad but not what I pictured when looking at the booking details on bookings.com). However, if you end up getting a bottom room floor with neighbors above, you risk getting woken up at 4 am if your upstairs neighbor decides to loudly search through there room for 10 minutes. Next time, I would just get an Airbnb nearby and just eat at the restaurant

clean, friendly place for those who want some quietness close to a tropical forest and a volcano. the amenities are few, but that is what we wanted, a bit of small town, rural ambient, away from TVs, stereotypical franchise fast food, crowded pools or restaurants.. We loved the forest around the hotel, and how close it was to Volcano National Park. Staff is friendly, and the restaurant is acceptable, although the menu is limited. overall we were happy with the service and the location.

Room was wonderful with the fireplace and the heated towel racks. Hot tub was wonderful in the cool mountain air. Lush surroundings and songs of birds were wonderful. Though the restaurant was short staffed, the hard workers delivered us delicious meals for breakfast and dinner. I would recommend this place to all travelers.

We loved our stay at the Kilauea Lodge. The room was large, comfortable, and well-appointed, and included access to an adjacent well-furnished common room. The grounds are attractive and well-landscaped and include a spa/hot tub in a garden setting. Our only issue was with the restaurant's late opening time of 9:00 AM - too late for breakfast.

Great ambiance. Great access to the national park. Room quality, cleanliness and service were excellent. We cannot understand why you would sell a 450 dollar room; and put in a fifteen-year-old eighty dollar television with a faded screen. We also purchased a 'special' bottle of wine on a twenty-dollar special. The wine had turned to vinegar.

Aloha folks, We apologize again about the wine! We love our local winery, and it is unfortunate that we received a bad batch. They have already made it right with us, but we still feel terrible that you folks didn't get to experience an adequate bottle from them. As for the TV in the common area, we do understand that it is on the older side. Mahalo for sharing your feedback.

Kilauea Lodge and Restaurant offers lovely accommodations and dining for those visiting Hawaii Volcanoes National Park. The park entrance is 5 minutes away and it is easy to come and go to the park depending on your schedule and the frequently changing weather. The Lodge is quiet and tranquil, with incredible gardens and a rustic, but luxurious Hawaiian decor. Food is very good; we enjoyed every meal and cocktail.

Very comfortable, clean lodging about 5 minute drive outside of the national park! No AC but all windows open and we were actually chilly overnight with just that. There is a heater in the room if need be. Was peaceful to sleep with the rain outside. Hot tub on property also which is great. Drinking water provided in room to fill water bottles. We did dine for dinner at the restaurant since it was convenient, food quality was okay... a little pricy for what you get but it's one of the few options in the area. Probably wouldn't recommend the restaurant but would definitely recommend staying here overnight.

Over the last twenty years, the Kilauea Lodge is our favorite place to stay on the Big Island. The accommodations are wonderful and the meals superb. I particularly like their corned beef hash for breakfast, and the dinner entrees are always well chosen and beautifully prepared. I'm sure we've stayed there two dozen times or more and will again this years.

We have a lovely time at the Kilauea Lodge. We had rooms 1 and 7, both were very comfortable. Room 1 was particularly exceptional because of the fireplace which we enjoyed as it was cold and rainy throughout our stay. The restaurant was comfortable and tasty. The ease and comfort of the lodge provided a great place to stay as we navigated Hawaii Volcanoes Nat’l Park which is just a few minutes drive down the road.
