I booked a room through Trip Advisor for a one night stay at Chalet Kilauea based on photos and reviews. It looked unique and beautiful, I loved the fireplaces and nice looking rooms and surrounding forest. Upon check in, I was directed to nearby "Hale Volcano", or house, as this management runs three properties. It did not look anything like...

For a real Hawaiian experience as an affordable option for an overnight visit to National Volcano Park stay here. We arrived late at night and didn't realize until morning that we slept in a tropical forest! Check-in was in another location with designated afternoon hours just for that purpose. A retro little spot. Few amenities. Could use some updates, but...

We really enjoyed our one-night stay in room 105. The chalet is about 10 minutes away from the Jagger Museum and allowed us to see the evening glow in the crater at night. We had a two-story accommodation: bathroom and second sink on the first floor and bedroom on the second floor. Our room also included a balcony overlooking the...

Well-appointed, tastefully decorated, large hotel room. Has mini-fridge, microwave, everything need to cook. The bathroom was clean, modern and had a shower big enough to host a small party. The only reason that I am not assigning 5 stars is that the drapery fabric was a little thin, so one's sense of privacy was compromised. Not a huge problem. Good...

This place is so perfect to renew, and to just relax. So close to the Volcano. Within driving distance to the Moku Nui Sunrise Lava Boat Tour. Just all round peaceful. The kitchen area is just enough for requirements. The bathroom is just out of this world. Stay here and you will see what I mean. Oh, and the colourful...

This hotel was in a very quiet area, set amongst beautiful grounds in a stunning area. Whilst the hotel was a little basic and parking was tight, the room was nice. The facilities are very basic, we had to go out for food and there was no bar area, but the local restaurants and bars are of good quality. A...

There seems to be a shortage of decent accommodation near Volcanoes National Park and this slightly quirky place is probably one of the better options. I say quirky because it has an unexpected Japanese theme: a lovely garden with a coy carp pond; and rooms with a vaguely Japanese feel to the decor. The location is excellent, within a few...

This was such a beautiful place to stay close to volcano area. Rain forest setting made it even more serene. Room was very clean, traditional interior design, front office staff was very helpful. Overall a great stay and worth the extra dollars

Very close to Volcanos N.P. In the middle of a rainforest,I enjoyed a peaceful walk each morning. Each room has it own style and character. I only wish we had planned to spend more time there . Highly recommended

There wasn't much to choose from in the area but the chalet was nice enough. The room was cramped but nice. Difficulties arise because there isn't really staff there beyond a few hours a day. We had to drive for an hour to find food and drink after hours. Otherwise it's very convenient for the national park.
