Our room was nice and clean, but had a couple things broken or worn. Room overall 4 out of 5. We tried the pools on the other side of resort 9opposite side of road from checking counter) and pools were less clean and chairs dirty. When we asked if we can guarantee or choose a room that would more than likely be on checking side, the staff told me rooms vary by who you book with and the type of room.

Hotel's Favourite
We booked two suites for a family with 3 adult children, 5 guests in all. The suites were lovely-clean, well-appointed, and nicely furnished. Beds were very comfortable. Morning coffee on the balconies, looking out over the golf course (which seemed to be closed since we didn’t see any golfers) was a wonderful way to start our day. Because there were full kitchens in each suite, one day we had dinner in our suite. There are grills available for outdoor cooking and we enjoyed a casual home cooked meal with provisions from the nearby grocery store in Waikoloa Village. There are also two markets in the resort at the Kings Village and the Queens shops. My husband and I took morning walks in the resort which was a great way to start the day. There is a adult pool which was nice and not crowded. The children’s pool looked like a fun place. The front desk staff were wonderful and very helpful. Especially nice is that you can communicate with them via text. LaLa was especially helpful and kind. All 5 of us travel a lot and everyone agreed this was a wonderful place to stay and we would definitely stay here again. Highly recommend.

Bathroom designed by BREAK A LEG. I dare you to get in and out of the bathtub without a thought of EMS and a fracture. Not at all friendly for older folks. And should you not be an acrobat getting out of the tub is sure to be an experience. Try to get a room with a shower - don't be fooled by an 'upgrade' - insist on a real shower not the handheld contraption designed to wet everything but your hair.

The resort and accommodations are beautiful? Everything is well kept and clean. They do not have a restaurant onsite. The pool snack bar and bar area are only open from 11 AM until 5:45 PM. They advertise a lazy river but what you have is a huge pool area with waterfalls that is beautiful but it does not have a current like a lazy river would. The adult area with the grotto and waterfall is awesome! We will stay there again but we now know what to expect.

Loved our stay here! We had two one-bedroom suites next to each other on the ground floor. The six-year-old was able to go from her lanai to ours in the morning to see her grandad. At first, I was upset that I didn't get a golf course view. It turned out to be a blessing being near the parking lot. We could empty the car and leave everything on the Lanai of both rooms before going around to unlock the doors. It was dark and quiet at night and people driving in or staying in adjacent rooms never bothered us. Our building (#21) was close to the reception so we were able to easily walk across the street to the pool. The 6-year-old loved going to the pool every day! Hands-down it is one of the best hotel pools around! My only complaint was all the adults standing around in the ‘adults only’ pool kept me from trying to swim laps. The pounding massage I got standing in the waterfalls made up for the limited ‘real’ swimming opportunities! My greatest joy was sleeping on a Hilton bed--no need to see the chiropractor the whole stay! In our suite with the king size bed, the dresser next to it was large enough for my CPAP machine and there was a plug outlet available in the base of the lamp. No need to crawl around on the floor looking for an outlet behind the bed. Be warned, there is less room on the night stand in the rooms with double beds. Also be aware that because of distribution shortages we had trouble finding distilled water in stock even at Safeway and Walmart. Everyone was super friendly especially the maintenance staff. It seems we had them over almost every night for one problem or another and they always showed up right away even if it was 11 pm. The bidet seat on the toilet with the warm-air bottom-dryer was a huge hit with the 6-year-old and the grandparents alike. No need to bring any wipes to this hotel! The kitchen was adequate if not fantastic. There are not that many restaurants close by so it was good to stock up on groceries and have the ability to warm up left-overs as well. We found that Amazon can send two-day orders to the hotel ahead of the hotel stay. This is definitely a service to utilize so you have less to pack in your suitcase. The best thing that I ordered was a fold-up laundry drying rack. It was essential for all the swim stuff we had to dry since there are not enough rails in the bathroom to hang bath towels let alone pool towels, etc. We bought beach chairs that we had to leave behind so check with the porter to see if they have some that you can borrow. Might be ours! If you are staying with family that you don’t usually live with, I suggest getting two suites next to each other rather than sharing a bigger one. It was nice having our own spaces to accommodate different sleeping and eating habits especially since hotel rooms can get messy with everyone’s stuff strewn about. We just aren’t VRBO or Air B&B kind of people so this was a perfect place for us: comfortable bed, clean bathroom with bidet, small kitchen so we didn’t have to eat out every day and fantastic air-conditioning as well as fans. If something wasn’t cleaned properly or didn’t function as expected, they sent someone out right away. I only left off one star for having to call housekeeping and maintenance so often. Fantastic place to stay on the Big Island!

Had a great 3 night stay in a studio suite. Nice property and love that the units are suites. Also love the convenience of parking nearby. Had to drive to the front desk for pool towels which was a little annoying. But overall, loved the property and would stay here again. It is not ocean front like the Hilton but I prefer this as the Hilton is way too big.

We are here with two other families and after months of planning and calling to make sure our three rooms would be in the same building the hotel failed to make this happen. One of the families was told she had to upgrade to a two bedroom in order to ensure that we would be in the same building (she had originally booked a one bedroom). Tonight we find out she will not be in the same building. We all had coordinated packing and planned to share items and now that will not work. Upon check in we noticed our room smelled a little funky (wet and mildewy). It became more apparent when we turned the A/C down. We tried airing it out but after hours realized it wasn’t going away. I called to see if they could move us to another room and they told me the size was completely booked out for my dates (I even specified, for any building in the property). I immediately looked online and saw there were still rooms being sold online. They did quickly send a tech to replace the filters and spray the air and the smell is mostly gone with our windows open. The grounds are nice and pools are great (a little cold). Parking is convenient. Food is scarce and the club house restaurant is slow. I wouldn’t recommend traveling here with groups unless you don’t mind being in different buildings. You also have no say on where they put you. We specified the buildings close to the clubhouse and ended up in the buildings furthest away from the club house. Ultimately, I’m not sure we’ll return because management is not great and I don’t appreciate being lied to repeatedly.

Let's get the tiny negatives out of the way. This is a massive property. There were at least 25 separate buildings with rooms in them as well as the main building. So, you're going to be doing some walking, driving or shuttling (there is a shuttle, I was told at check-in but I never noticed it). There are a number of pools/Jacuzzis spread out across the property but the best of the best is the one at the main building. There are 2 massive pools there (one is 'adults only'), 3 Jacuzzis as I recall, an ice plunge and 2 slides. The other tiny negative is a visit from a little lizard on my last morning (on "check- out day") who was content to remain parked on the inside wall of my bathtub, pointing down looking at the bottom of the tub. It was a florescent orange and kind of cute. I mentioned it to reception when I checked out, ending with the words, "in case you need to know" and the receptionist just ignored me and asked how I enjoyed my visit (so I'm guessing that these critters appear every once in a while). I hate bugs but I couldn't really dislike the guy cuz he was so orange and cute! The place is expansive and when you stay there you have access to the other Hilton property nearby (including parking). The rooms at the hotel are not simple rooms; they're suites. Mine looked out onto the golf course which was a lovely view and QUIET -- something I had requested as I am a light sleeper. The suite had a full, open kitchen, dining area. living room with TV, sliding doors, opening onto a private balcony, a MASSIVE bathroom with a tub and separate stall shower. The suite was air conditioned although I turned it off at night. The freezer and refrigerator were both set at a 'coldness level' of 9 ('9' being the coldest). At this setting, the freezer ran continuously and was a bit noisy. I lowered them both to '5' which seemed more than adequate and the freezer wasn't making such a non-stop racket after that. The grounds, like everywhere in kauai, were packed with wildlife -- birds of every description and goats that were feeding, at times, alongside the road going into the property. In all, it was a very pleasurable experience.

Waikoloa is a Great Location on the Big Island and the Hilton Vacation Club Kings‘ Land is great if you’re looking for a “family condo” or a couple’s getaway but like the amenities of a condo. Many swimming pools, a bar and food and live music many afternoons in the week. The area around the property is a golf course that is challenging and fun, if your staying at Kings’ Land there is a special rate. Also the village is just mins away with additional restaurants, bars, mall and movie theater.
