Our room was lovely. It had been recently remodeled so everything was nice and new. The resort is nice but a bit of a distance from restaurants. It would be nice if they had a restaurant there but there is a kitchen so that saves...More
The unit was large and clean. I was surprised at the lack of amenities. There is a pool, however, not great. The AC in the unit wasn't functioning great. I felt that whenever I asked the local management for anything I got a great smile...More
We had a two-story, three bedroom, three bathroom unit. We wound up not using the air conditioning, so the staff refunded our fee. Quiet location and really enjoyed the birds on the golf course outside our balcony. Close to a grocery store, post office and...More
Enjoyed a week here with friends in a 2 bedroom unit. Great views, good location, away from the tourist strip. Good facilities and staff have been excellent. Yes, you need to travel to see the sights but all are so accessible. Here you have a...More
We own a timeshare here but have not been here for six years. We were not sure what to expect as we knew they were renovating some units. And they are but they move guests to quieter areas and we have heard nothing. Our unit...More

We were just there in early May, and I suggest that you be careful when you rent a car that you don't fall victim to a "bait and switch" scheme. we had reserved a car from Dollar, was told upon arrival that we were being given a 6 person van rather than the economy car we had reserved, and it would require a $25/day upgrade fee, more than doubling our costs. Luckily we were able to go on line with our phones, and found an available car at another agency (Budget) for what our original cost was, and all we had to do was walk across the street.. Just be aware.

The big nightlife center would likely be Kona about 40 minutes away. There are also some very upscale resorts & condos about 15-30 minutes away in & around the Hilton Waiakoloa so I would expect some great options there. We did not seek out what may be just up the road in terms of various restaurants. After touring or a day at the beach we enjoyed coming back to the peaceful setting.
