Cleaning fee that's $300 is certainly a rip off given there's no daily cleaning. I booked this place due to the good reviews on Costco but was pretty disappointed. Will not return. Also be aware that many buildings on the properties can be extremely far from the Ocean Club, making it pretty inconvenient if you have little kids. We ended up driving to the Ocean Club.

We stayed at this resort for a month and loved every minute. The condo was comfortable and well supplied. We loved the Ocean Club, which is right on the ocean, where we spent a lot of time relaxing and whale watching. The unit was in need of some maintenance work--the patio door was extremely hard to open, which we reported, and was not resolved. We had no housekeeping service and requested a vacuum which we never received. We washed our own towels and linens.

Our group of 8 (4 adults/4 kids) stayed in a 3 bedroom 3 bathroom unit, 4G. There was plenty of space for everyone, the kitchen was fully stocked with plenty of storage, and we had nice golf course with a peek of the ocean views from both lanais. There were beach chairs, beach towels, a boogie board, an umbrella, fishing pole, tennis rackets, and a cooler. Everything needed for a road trip. There is a pullout bed in the couch but it’s a full so the office gave us a good quality air bed. The Ocean Club pool area was very nice with amazing ocean views and sunsets. The kids had a great time and we all enjoyed the food and drinks from the restaurant. The complex is centrally located to shopping and beaches. The grounds were impeccable and the community quiet and welcoming. We would not hesitate to return.

The Waikoloa beach has plenty of resorts, including the likes of Marriot, Hilton, etc but they get booked quickly especially if you're traveling for a conference. This place Halii Kai is quite close to Hilton and Marriot (<5 min drive). We stayed in a 2B2B unit. The unit is centrally air-conditioned, it's a must given the temperatures. They provide you with some towels, washing machines, and beach equipment including chairs, balls, surfboards, even sunscreens, etc. There is no coffee or food available like in a typical Airbnb so plan to bring your own. The living room had a smart TV. The rooms are average (with smart TV), nowhere comparable to Hilton or Marriot. The backyard has a barbecue and opens into a golf course on the side of which is the pacific ocean and the morning view is amazing. If you're lucky you can spot some whales (I was not, unfortunately!) There is an Ocean's club exclusive for anyone staying in this resort and it has an amazing vibe in the evening - live music, pools, spa, and food on top of a nice beachside view. The bummer part is that there is no breakfast available and this is the only place serving food and opens only 11 am-8 pm.

The condo was beautiful and very well equipped. Helen at the reception was very helpful and gave a late checkout since our flight was leaving late in the evening. The folks working at the beach club are extremely rude and hostile towards children. The woman working at the pool was constantly trying to intimidate my children. DO NOT GO TO THIS PLACE WITH CHILDREN. This place is for retirees.

Next to impossible to find any improvements to recommend in this holiday home. Every kitchen appliance you could imagine, fine glasses for indoor use and others in the kit of picnic gear. And chairs and rattan mats to complete your picnic environment. Choose a book to take along, or any of a variety of games and toys for children to enjoy at the beach. The beds and linens are of the finest quality, and the beach towels are sumptuous. A very short walk to the pool make splash times easy to achieve. Highly efficient and welcoming unit layout makes family holiday time easy to organize. Thanks to Peggy Yelland (and the cleaning staff)for her care in ensuring everything is in excellent order.

Stayed at Hali'i Kai for 2 weeks during Ironman. 7 of us stayed in a 3 bed villa, ample size for all of us with good facilities in the villa; WiFi, dishwasher, washer & dryer. Very clean on arrival. Short walk to the pool and ocean front walks. Shops nearby for essentials and 35 minute drive in to Kona Only downside was advertised as having a sofa bed which it didn't but they brought us a blow up mattress. Beautiful setting, lovely meals at the ocean club. Staff were always friendly and helpful

This was actually our second stay here and I don’t think we will return. Even as a white person, I can say it has an incredibly racist culture. Every night they allow one of their condo owners to take over the pool and restaurant area for an elaborate display of cultural appropriation with a conch shell. They even had the nerve to shush our toddler who was playing in the kiddie pool during this self absorbed event. It was extremely off putting and out of touch.

Very nice, comfortable beds. We were in 11F. There are steps up to the unit, and then inside steps up to top floor. So if you have a problem with stairs this would not be good. Beautiful view from master bedroom. These rentals are very good for older people. The pool area is sort of crazy with its restrictions. Not family friendly. They don’t like noise or splashing. And it closes early, like at 8pm my kids went down and it was closed. Good thing is they walked over to the Hilton. Big pool with no noise or splashing restrictions. It is very close to the King and Queen shopping centers. During IronMan we were fine staying in the area (lots of restaurants to pick from).

Halii Kai at Waikoloa was beautiful. The grounds were meticulously maintained, the staff was friendly and the pool , bar and workout area was always super clean. We stayed in 13b-which was Ocean front- so we had the Sunset from our patio every night. It was very clean and perfect location for the pool/bar and sunsets. My wife and I really loved our stay and plan on going back next year same time same condo. The week we went was not crowded anywhere we went and always had our pick of chairs around the pool. Great place and area if your planning a trip to the Big Island this is the place to stay!!!!
