It's a nice resort and unit, but nothing special or out of the ordinary. Miles from any beach, and pool was okay, but small. It is also expensive as it cost over $45 per day for resort fees and taxes on top of paying an exchange fee and combining weeks to be able to make exchange.
My family and I, stayed at Kohala Grand Vacation July 2021. It is 25 minutes north from the Kona Airport. And 1.5 hours from Hilo. There is also a Costco and Walmart, about 30 minutes south of the resort. Kohala was perfect for my family of 4 (2 adults and 2 children, ages 22 and 14). There is a large master bedroom with a large shower, large closet, double sinks, high ceilings, and a large jet tub (but my husband said that the jets did not work well). There is a 2nd bedroom with 2 large beds and a TV. Next to the 2nd bedroom, was a 2nd full bathroom. This additional bathroom was really helpful for our family!! The suite also has a fully equipped kitchen, dining room, and living room. The kitchen has a large refrigerator (with freezer and ice-maker), electric stove, microwave, double-sink, and dishwasher (with all the plates, cups, and utensils you need). Unfortunately, the coffeemaker is not a Keurig-type. We were happy because there was a rice-cooker available, as well! Dish soap, a dish sponge, pots/pans, cooking utensils, and bowls were provided. It was really great that the suite had a washer and dryer! This was really convenient. Our lanai faced the quiet golf course. There was a dining table with chairs on the lanai, as well as some loungers. Perfect place to watch the sunset, feel the breeze, and have a nice meal or drink. The parking was convenient as well. There is no charge for parking and there is usually plenty of parking right in front of your room. This is great when you have alot of luggage, groceries, young kids, etc. Island Gourmet Market at Queen’s Marketplace was about a mile away and a great place to pick up small essentials, quick meals, and souvenirs. If you are a guest at this Hilton, you and your family have free access to the pools at the Hilton Waikoloa Resort (which is 0.5 miles away). You can drive or take a shuttle there. Overall, Kohala had everything my family needed for a comfortable, relaxing vacation on the Big Island. I would definitely recommend this resort to my friends and family.…
We stayed for one week in May and absolutely loved it! We previously stayed at Marriott but their prices are to the roof. This time around, we decided in Hilton Kohala Suites and we were NOT disappointed! Property is in great condition. The suite was very spacious and very clean! We had an issue with kitchen sink leaking and they had it fixed immediately! We were also happily surprised by the washer dryer in unit! Absolutely loved it here and can't wait to be back soon!!
This resort, Waikoloa, was excellent. its has everything you need. We highly recommend it and would return anytime. make time for all the pools, excellent gym, restaurants, beaches, activities, and that is just in the resort. Then there's everything you can do around the island. I would go back for a month and do it all. Our entire family's highlight was swimming with dolphins at Dolphin Quest. Well worth the cost.
Kohala Suites is the perfect place to have a base in the Big Island. We loved being able to cook and do laundry and spread out when at the unit. Lanai is really nice, overlooking the golf course. Waikoloa is a good location for exploring the island, snorkeling, getting to Volcano etc. there's also so much to do right at the resort and the adjoining Hilton. We also loved the lava path walkway through petroglyph Fields that connects to Queen and King marketplace. Great location and stay!!
Loved staying in the 2 bedrooms, 2 baths unit. It was clean, had all the amenities you need, and a lovely view. Will stay there again. The beds were the most comfortable we have ever had while at a resort.
We loved everything. If we needed anything, it was brought to our room! The only complaint we had, the hot tub broke while we were there, and the part was ordered. However, there were other hot tubs to choose from. Other than that, it was perfect. If they could have fixed it, they would have by the time we left.
This was the worst stay I have ever had. Customer service was so bad When we asked whether there was a restaurant on premise, the front desk would not answer. Instead, she said said look at the QR code. We arrive to our room and the first thing we see is a beer can on the outside window ledge and trash on the ground on the outside of our room. The trash and beer can has been there for three days. The last straw is today, when I went to eat leftovers that I left on the kitchen counter. There were ants all over the box and in the food. I went to complain, but the front check in person acted as if it was not a problem and that I was the one at fault. When I showed her the pictures of the trash that was in the bushes by our room and the beer can on the ledge of the other room, she asked me whether I had called housekeeping to have them clean it up. I asked her how that was my responsibility rather than house keeping who should be cleaning the ground of the property. I will never stay at another Hilton property again. They do not take pride in keeping their property clean nor have they properly trained their employees to provide a tiny bit of customer service. Even employee I have encountered at this hotel was rude and unhelpful.…
We were six adults who stayed as part of the HGV group. Fantastic property, absolutely lovely grounds, free plentiful parking, nice pool, close to local beautiful natural beaches. The rooms are clean, beds are comfy, staff are very helpful and friendly.
We hated to leave. The rooms are large and comfortable. Kitchen is equipped with everything you would need. Front staff was friendly and helpful. Pool was nice and hot tub was hot. Will definitely be back again.
