The good thing is there are some really good food trucks nearby called Namaste Indian food truck (Sam is from Kerala and he is an incredible cook and it's a one man operation truck), there will be wait and long line but it's so worth it. The other one is Ananta Thai food truck, must get their incredible (Really incredible fried rice) and amazing Red Curry with bamboo shoots. Other than that, .. I'm just going to say you better find yourself a hotel or wait until there is a better hostel in Kauai (and it's coming soon).

I really enjoyed my time here! Not only is it affordable, but you absolutely cannot beat the location as it's right on the beach and within walking distance to so many eateries. (Check out the Small Town Coffee truck across the street!) If you're a female traveler, make sure to book the female dorm so you can wake up to the sunrise (with the roosters) and sit on the deck with some tea. :) The staff here is really friendly and helpful as well. Everyone who stays here was also nice/chill and it was a wide range of ages! From young to young at heart! This is not a party hostel as it gets quiet by 9pm. (I appreciated this) The only reason why I didn't give it 5 stars (would do 4.5) was the bugs that I saw, but it's to be expected with the layout and you're in a tropical climate. Mahalo!

The senior management is disrespectful of the staff and abusive and bullying in their treatment of the staff in front of the guests. They do no fix the basic issues such as leaky showers or a failed refrigerator promptly. Instead of doing their job, they scapegoat and blame their hardworking and conscientious staff members.

Everyone was so friendly and helpful! They had a ton of great suggestions on what to do and where to go. We had some great game nights and dinner hangouts. You are basically in a tree house in a jungle, so make sure to follow their rules to avoid bugs. However, also realize that it is a tropical area, so you will see a few bugs and lizards, and it's ok! Enjoy the breeze from the ocean and relax into the chill vibe. If you're noise sensitive while you sleep, the entire island has wild chickens, so bring earplugs for the roosters no matter where you stay! Highly recommend!!
