We spent the first 4 nights of our honeymoon at Fern Grotto Inn and stayed in the Garden Cottage. The cottage was very clean, comfortable, and nicely decorated. The kitchen was exactly as described and very well stocked with pots, pans, and any utensil we'd need. The bed was also especially comfortable! The bathroom was beautiful with a very spacious... Our family of 6 ( all adult) stayed in the Ohana cottage at Fern Grotto Inn during the last week of March 2015. This gracious white plantation house is set in a lovely garden complete with bonsai and fruit trees. Each of the 3 comfortable bedrooms sleep 2 ( 2 double beds, one 2 twin bed room) and has a... This was our 5th trip to Kauai, and our 5th stay at the Fern Grotto Inn...that alone should tell you everything you need to know! This year we stayed in the Ohana House, and for less than what we would have spent at a resort, we enjoyed a three bedroom, three bathroom house, with a very comfortable living space, fully... More

My review is based on location, comfort, cleanliness, personality, authentic intuitive service and thoughtful amenities. If you are looking for large hotel's with fake waterfalls, then look on from here. This magical spot is not for you. Fern Grotto is a small collection of cabins with one large, 3 bedroom, plantation style house in the centre of the complex. The... More

We stayed in Canal A cottage. Despite its small size it really had everything we needed. We cooked for ourselves most nights. There was no oven or stove top but several high-end hot plates that worked well and a large toaster oven. We did not miss having a complete kitchen. There was a good coffee maker and the cupboard was... More

Sweet, comfortable, and quaint cottage with nice river view: great for two people and "da kine" extras like beach gear, coolers, laundry access and a two person kayak you can use, and these ammenities, besides the awesome central location, really make it unique. Your host, Paul, is well versed to help you with input on local sights and will give... More
