We stayed 2 nights here the first week of December and found this hotel to be very nice. The room was spacious and had all we needed for our stay. The rates are good for the Kapaa area and it's located near shopping and restaurants. Even without an ocean front room, it's less than a minute's walk to the beach....

We stayed in Aston Islander in April 2011 for 4 nights and really liked the place. It has a peaceful 'private beach' just next to the rooms where you can just chill and have a swin etc. Everything was workable and no complaints at all. It is a nice base to go aroung the beuatiful Kauai with a rental car....

Overall the stay was very pleasant. There are no restaurants on the property. The rooms were on the small side. We had the 2nd floor ocean view. The Sand Bar staff all need an attitude adjustment, they have all been caught talking about their own jobs and how crappy other co-workers are, for the price of the drinks they should...

I read the past reviews with all the assorted issues.. (service, parking, resort fees etc). It appears that the Aston company has listened and dealt with all the issues. We found the location excellent for travel north and south. Local shopping centres were within walking distance for all required items. The staff (especially Sue) were friendly and helpful. The rooms...

We spent the first week of December at the Islander and had a wonderful time. We experienced no issues with parking, but it is off-season. As for other complaints about the towels, take a beach towel with you. The grounds are well kept, and the room was clean with all of the items we need for a relaxing vacation. If...

We stayed at one of the privately run condos; however, the room was identical to those run by the Islander. Let's hear it for Islander on the Beach's NO SMOKING policy! Yeah! Whoo-hoo!! No noxious fumes drifting in at midnight or at any other time. That *alone* would be enough for me to stay again. But there was much more....

Easy and fast to get to/from the airport or Lihue. Check-in was a breeze and very friendly. The room was nice, not big, but enough for two. There is a mini kitchen area so it helped that we could do our own thing for some meals, like breakfast or lunch. There are two large grocery stores within easy walking distance...

PAY ATTENTION...Not a hotel, It is a hotel that is being sold off as condos. Plenty of older couple who love to stare when you try to use the 4 person hot tub and mini pool. All sorts of ridiculous rules ie. Lost card - $15, lost towel (one per day strictly enforced) $35 bucks etc.etc. Construction every day of...

Aloha and thank you for your review. In going through the review, noted that the noise from the adjacent park. Could it be that you were at Aston Aloha Beach Hotel and not at Aston Islander on the Beach? We don't have a park adjacent to the property and we have our team here helping to control "crowing" roosters. We...

Stayed there for 4 days around thanks giving on november. Hotel is right on the beach. However didn't see many people in the beach swimming as it is not the best place apparently to swim. Rooms were pretty big and neat equipped with refrigerator and microwave with utensils. Wifi is free in front-lobby (you might get the wifi signal if...

An excellent staff - very friendly and helpful - the physical plant has its problems, due to age, but is a very reasonable headquarters for exploring the island. The maintenance folks responded quickly to problems so that was not an issue. Pretty grounds well maintained, but this is definitely not a "destination". Also can get noisy when the adjacent park...
