Wan't looking for luxury in Kauai but this place exceeded expectations. The room had everything we needed (plates, cutlery, fridge, amenities, small dining table and patio). The location is perfect! CLOSE to grocery stores and restaurants and our room overlooked the ocean! The pool was...More
Great location right on the beach. Saw humpback whales from the shore.
Walking distance to Kenji burger (yum) and grocery store across the street.
Courtyard Marriott is next door. Much nicer property but more expensive.
Free Wifi limited to lobby and pool area. We were...More
This property is well located for shops, restaurants, and access to beaches and activities. It is also right on the ocean with beautiful views up and down the coast although swimming is not recommended due to sharp rocks. The hotel itself is in poor shape....More
This place is the biggest dump I've ever seen. Place is dirty and falling apart and it's a shame because it's in a nice location. Do not stay here until they renovate!!! Pool area and beach walk is fine. But the holes in the walls...More
Staying at Castle Mokihana for one night.
It's an interesting place and kind of reminds me of the past...definitely not the present.
But that's okay, just a bit dated. The grounds and the location are amazing although I definitely wouldn't swim in the sea here....More

No. I have seen no signs of refurbishment activity. There are no TVs but signs that there once was one - cable line looped by the sliding door to deck. My room was in the middle building, on the end towards the Bull Shed. It's a larger room, and I was lucky enough to have a fan in the room when I checked it. It had a timer so I was able to set the time -- up to 4 hours. I did not keep the sliding door open during the night since I was worried if it rains the rain might come in and soak the carpet floor. The fridge was working; it had a broken plastic handle at the top. Small fridge like a dorm..square. I did not use the coffee maker. I ate out most of the time since there is a grocery store - Food Lands across the street, and there are lots of eateries in walking and short driving distance away.
