A great location, in walkable Kapaa village, with some outstanding staff (e.g. Jocelyn G.!). Eastward views, ocean front promenade, & reef protected beaches make it a very welcome spot to stroll, swim, or whale watch. Nearby eateries like Olympic or Bubba's, not to mention Oasis (on the beach) with their Wed. night Yukelele rock -- a not to missed mini-concert!!

Clean but dated condo. Staff was extremely helpful. Great ocean front room. Close to many restaurants and shopping. About 10-15 minutes from the airport. Beautiful koi pond just outside from the desk area

Friends had an extra condo available here -- it was nice: one bedroom large unit with kitchen and Murphy bed in the living room. Fit our family of four fine -- three markets about a mile away (Foodland, Safeway, Big Save) and old Kapaa town and food truck area a few blocks the other way. Resort had plenty of amenities:...

The Pono Kai resort seems to be a mix of time shares which are rented through the resort and privately owned units which are rented separately. We stayed in a privately owned unit and as such, the resort management was not responsible for any issues in the unit. However, our owner, Bryan, was very responsive and the few issues we...

Stayed in 3rd floor (w/loft) building B, AB&C have unobstructed ocean view, "moon & sunrise" very nice. Nicely furnished inside with step out deck with table, chairs & padded lounger. Beach steps away & ocean front walk to restaurants & shopping, grocery close also. Thursday or Sunday welcome "breakfast" coffee donuts worth doing for the many prize giveaway, sadly won...

We have stayed at Pono Kai 3 times, and have never been disappointed. It is conveniently located between the north and south shore. The grounds are beautiful and our favorite thing is waking up and having coffee and breakfast on the balcony, enjoying the beautiful sunrise. The rooms are a bit outdated, but we are adventurers and are rarely in...

Nice rooms and in the process of updating. Good job other than the AC is in the den and not in the bedroom. Nice view, walking trail, nice welcome nicely kept up. Staff is glad to help with tours......wi-fi is OK at best. Shops are close by and within walking distance. You can be almost anywhere on the island from...

We checked in to the resort on Saturday afternoon, following a long delay waiting for the rooms to be prepared. Our room was a one bedroom with a loft on the third floor of a building one row back from the beach. The room was well maintained, despite some of the fixtures being a bit dated. Management indicated that the...

Our visit to Kauai was to take advantage of some warm weather and scuba opportunities. We are Vacation Internationale members and our unit was a designated VI unit in the Pono Kai Resort. Other groups that share inventory at Pono Kai include Bluegreen Corp, Pono Kai interval owners and Pono Kai condo owners. Check in was kind of slow because...

Nice location.. but it is definitely not more than a 3 star.. the units are roomy, clean but very old school.. the location is great especially if you get an ocean front room.. absolutely ask for a 3rd floor unit because you will hear every noice above you if you don't !! The staff is very friendly and helpful and...
