This location is ideal for getting away from the typical tourist hotels, and it's very close to the Navy base if you've got business there. Waimea itself is the technology center for many island businesses. The grounds are peaceful and open for strolling, enjoying the ocean, or just sitting in the shade of trees to read a book. There's a...

I have been to the resort twice now. The first time was for my honeymoon in 2010. My hubby and I returned for a second honeymoon December 2015. We renewed our vows on the beach at sunset at the resort. The property and the beach takes my breath away. It is amazing. It is my favorite place in the whole...

Stayed here 4 nights in December and welcomed the change from the usual Hawaii hotel/condo. Our 1-bedroom cottage was simple but cozy and very pleasant. Bed nice and firm, good linens, and large bathroom with great water pressure. Enjoyed morning coffee on our own porch (made our own the first morning but then discovered the lodge's very good coffee and...

We spent 10 nights on Kauai. First 5 nights here, then we went to Westin in Princeville. Different as night & day. Our cottage had a ramp, 2 bedrooms, kitchen, living room. and a relaxing lanai and direct ocean view. If you like friendly cats, they are a bonus. The kitties are not always around. Several benefits for disabled person...

Love everything about this place. The cottage was spacious, comfortable and charming. I hung some Christmas lights around and it became magical. The staff is also wonderful. The most awesome thing though was meeting one of their staff, Buna Lei Aloha, who was kind enough to take my 14 year old son out surfing!!! My son says he will never...

My family loved these charming, vintage cottages. Don't expect a luxury resort, but do expect a pleasant, relaxing stay. It has a great dark sand walking beach. There is some natural debris on the beach, but the water is clear a few yards from shore.

Clean and efficient, but hardly new. Some of these kitchens have been around since the 1970's I think. But, for Kauai, the price is right. Dinner was also average. I'd recommend getting tuna poke and a bottle of wine from a local grocery store and sitting on the "beach" to watch the sunset. That's getting the best of this location.

Very beautiful grounds with comfortable rooms complete with full kitchen and bath. We enjoyed the well cared for rooms with many original trim, doors, etc. Evening walks on the beach to enjoy the sunsets were part of our daily routine. Mahalo!

I go back and forth. Two stars. Three stars. Four. We had a studio. No locks on some windows and a missing did player. The front desk continually mentioned break ins and I was paranoid our entire stay. They never fixed the windows and the new DVD player was eventually delivered. The awesome juice was a perk. Free coffee too....

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Private, individual plantation cottages set on a historic 27-acre coconut plantation in a beachside setting close to Kauai's famous Napali Coast and Waimea Canyon. Each self-contained cottage has been fully restored with modern appliances, full kitchens, and amenities. The simple, comfortable charm, genuine history and beautiful grounds allow guests to enjoy a unique experience unlike any other in the islands. Waimea Plantation Cottages offers beautiful settings for Wedding Celebrations, Anniversaries, Family Reunions, and Corporate Business meetings. Note: The restaurant will be closed temporarily as we remodel and transition the restaurant to a new restaurant operator and will re-open in mid-to-late fall of 2013. We apologize for this temporary inconvenience. During this transition, we suggest trying some of the other dining options in Waimea Town such as Wrangler's Steak House. But do come and try our new restaurant once it reopens! ... more   less
