A wonderful well-equipped, comfortable, quiet cottage near a quaint town (Makawao) and supermarkets to provide anything you need. Fresh flowers daily and breakfast foods provided in the fridge on arrival. Comfortable queen-sized bed. Lovely landscaped gardens surround the cottage. Large private property can be peacefully viewed from the lanai. Cooling breezes were ever-present even when they were not near the...

One of the nicest appointed cottages we have found, a true guest cottage. There were fresh flowers on the table, our selection of breakfast milk (and orange juice) in the frig, fresh fruit set out, fresh eggs (from the neighbor) and warm blueberry muffins delivered by Bill & Machiko, our hosts. The bedroom is sunken with a wonderfully comfortable mattress...

The large cottage (really, a small house) is lovely: ideal for a couple. It is secluded, a good distance from the owners' house (Machiko and Bill are also lovely--friendly, thoughtful, and kind), and with a view out the back windows over an expansive lawn and garden and onto a neighboring farm. The cottage was absolutely spotless and tidy, and Machiko...

Love love love everything about the cottage, the location and the most gracious & lovely hosts. Upcountry is where it's at! If I realized just how wonderful this place was, we'd probably have stayed for a week or more. Every review on here is accurate and I want to keep this our little secret. Shhhh.... Bill and Machiko are wonderful...

If you are looking for a high class resort on the beach - this is not the place for you. If you are looking for quiet, quaint, and off the beaten path - this is the place for you! We made The Pilialoha cottage home for three days and couldn't have been happier. While not new, everything was clean and...

If you are looking to get away from the maddening crowds at hotels and resorts, this is the place for you. Bill and Machiko Heyde have a slice of paradise Upcountry. Everything is taken care of--extremely clean, well-equipped, and private location. You can truly appreciate the "real" Maui experience from here--cool nights, great sunsets, and gorgeous starscapes at night. The...

It was a girlfriend weekend and a wonderful stay at this cottage in up-country Maui. Two bedrooms, 2 baths, plenty of room for the four of us. The kitchen allowed us to prepare our own breakfast before we set out on our driving trips. Our hosts were wonderful and the cottage has every little touch that a visitor might like....

We found this darling little cottage on your TripAdvisor website. We stayed there from Nov. 20-24 and we’re glad we did! We usually stay in a hotel or condo in the Kaanapali tourist area so this was a wonderful change of pace for us. On the way to the cottage, you will pass through winding roads and rolling pastures. You...

We stayed for three nights at Pilialoha. It is a meticulously maintained cottage tucked away in Upcountry Maui. Slow, peaceful, relaxing -- it was so nice to get away from the touristy/resort areas. Extremely spacious, well equipped kitchen, comfy bed, lots of supplies (beach towels, coolers, yoga mats, fleece jackets, ice, etc.) Minutes from Makawao, and a short drive from...

We stayed for one week (September 2013) and the location was perfect to visit the entire island of Maui. It was nice to be able to "come home" and relax at Pilialoha Cottage and be away from the busy tourist areas. There are nice restaurants and stores within a short drive. We explored Haleakala, made a memorable day drive to...
