If you are looking for a place to get away from it all this is it. Some people mentioned the rooms are far from the ocean, if being on the ocean is what you want book yourself a king suite bungalow. The restaurant is fairly basic but also reasonably priced compared to most other places in Maui. If you want something else you have about a dozen food trucks in Hana to choose from. If you like a good bottle of wine at night bring your own, the resort options are limited to $15 bottles with a 150% mark-up. The infinity pool is the best in all of Maui in my opinion, spacious enough it never feels crowded and it has an amazing view. Overall the resort was clean, and well taken care of, it does have a more rustic feel too it, so we did see an occasional gecko in our bungalow on a few occasions. Resort staff was very nice and helpful with any questions you may have.…
The hotel is located in one of the quietest parts of Maui. It's a great place to go if you want peace and relaxation. It's not the place to go if you want to walk anywhere, visit a trendy restaurant, or be right on the ocean (it's a little inland). The restaurant on property was a little disappointing. It is your only option except for the food trucks a block away from the property. Depending where you are on property, you can be a 10+ minute walk from the ocean. The rooms are huge. The infinity pool is beautiful. The staff are very nice and courteous.
This is a great place to stay - definitely worth a few nights. The bungalows are really spacious and well put together, and the views are incredible. More amenities than we expected - the pool was really nice but also had tennis, basketball, pitch and putt, and more that we didn't experience. The drinks from the pool bar and the food at the restaurant was also incredible.
Stayed in a wonderful bungalow on the water - the room, grounds and staff couldn’t have been any better! Very comfortable room with a great deck overlooking the water. Had a sound sleep with the waves lapping the shore. I will stay here again! The only downside was the food - it clearly wasn’t up to the level of the resort. Had the daily catch for dinner and it was way over salted. Breakfast was mediocre at best. It appeared to me that the kitchen was understaffed due to Covid. I expect the food and service to get back to the level of the resort soon.
I am a Maui Resident and a long time lover of the Hana Maui Hotel. My latest visit was for my Nephews wedding. He and his lovely bride fell in love with the Hana Maui and decided to have their wedding there. About 55 guests arrived (from the Mainland) and were staying at the property. The staff was so awesome in creating a magical wedding we all had a wonderful time. Everyone thing about this hotel reminds me of old Hawaii. A caring staff, wide open spaces, quiet and the magic of Hana, It is expensive, and very low key, but if you are looking to see what Hawaii was like long ago, it is worth a splurge .
