This was a great stopover. We wanted to take our time on the road to Hana and were just looking for somewhere to stay overnight. It was comfortable and clean, as well as more affordable than other options in Hana, but felt more like staying in a cabin than a hotel or B&B.

This was our third visit. It used to be a beautiful place, but it has been severely neglected. Needs tons of work. There were cockroaches, ants, but the worst were the termites swarming. The furniture is so moldy and dirty, we couldn't sit on it. The roof, deck, and stairways showed a lot of dry rot, and some dangerous places...

It was a large comfortable space. The bedrooms were large. No AC, but at night is was cool enough with the windows open. The hot tub was a nice touch to spend some time in at night since there's nothing else to do in that town. The main light in the bedrooms didn't work the night we were there. Everything...

Overall this was a nice place to stay for a night with my family of 6. We rented the two bedroom Hana Bay Suite. First the good - the location is very close to the ocean and you could hear the surf inside the unit. The deck was big with a nice table to sit and enjoy the views. Each...

Great space. It was much larger than I expected. The bed was comfortable, everything worked, the patio was lovely for enjoying breakfast overlooking the ocean. The space is old and showing age, but the price was great and it exceeded our expectations. The bedding was brand new, and when I once reached out to the owners for assistance (we needed...

The location is good with an ocean view. The place is not well maintained and not very clean. There is no running water in the shower- bathtub. We stayed for 2 nights and were unable to contact the manager about the problem while we were there. The manager is not on location. There is no cell phone service in Hana.

We agree with the other reviewers that this place is desperately in need of maintenance. On the plus side, it has a good location, with a good view, and you could hear the surf. On the other hand, fixtures were rusted and falling apart, the plastic chairs on the deck were broken and a hazard to sit in, the pillows...

The bones of this place are decent. The location is great. But, it is dirty and grimy. For example, the area around the toilet smells like pee. The bathroom floor mats have not been washed for months, the pile of the mats are matted, and there is dust and dirt on them. The hardwood floors are dirty, if you walk...

Things in this spacious, well-designed unit were average, and I was being generous because the ocean there is stunning, despite no cable TV or Internet, until we were preparing to leave and wanted to shower after our morning walk. The shower/tub did not turn on. That took my rating down a notch. I think this was once a nice unit,...

My boyfriend and I stayed for one night at Hana Bay Hale after hiking in Haleakala National Park and driving the road to Hana. The room is very large and has a spectacular view! The bed was King size and very comfortable. After a long day of adventures we could not have asked for a better place to rest up!

“There are only 3 units: two with 1 bedroom and one with 2 bedrooms. From the web site, it appears that the 2-bedroom unit has a better kitchen. A larger group can open a door to a 1 bedroom unit and ignore its kitchen.”

“There are only four rooms or bungalows, and they all appeared to be about the same. The photos on the web pretty accurately represent what you'll find.”
